Hearing this, Yun Shang looked a little surprised. "Now your Majesty have already taken the throne. Why do you still hurry to invite Ghost Doctor to treat Her Former Majesty?"
Luo Qingyan smiled. "It will be the best if Her Former Majesty could get back her memories. But it doesn't matter if not."
Yun Shang nodded and put the letter back. Then she stood up and said, "Your Majesty, I won't delay you from handling political affairs. If I continue to stay here, someone might gossip that I'm a demon who comes down to create trouble for the country."
"Who dares to talk nonsense?" Luo Qingyan replied with a smile.
"They dare not say it in front of me, but who knows what they say behind my back. I'll take my leave now. What do you want for dinner, Your Majesty? I'll send someone to prepare it when I get back to the palace." Yun Shang put the lid on the hamper, looked up and asked with a smile.
Luo Qingyan thought for a while and said, "Make more vegetarian dishes."
Yun Shang replied softly and left.
Luo Qingyan smiled and watched Yun Shang walk out of Meeting Hall. Then he withdrew his gaze and looked at the letter. He thought for a moment and clapped his hands. A secret guard jumped down from the beam of the hall. Luo Qingyan handed the letter to the secret guard and said, "Send someone to the Imperial City of the State of Ning and handed the letter to Ghost Doctor in person."
The secret guard answered in a hurry. After taking the letter, he jumped up and disappeared without a trace.
Not long after the secret guard left, Liu Wenan opened the gate and came back with Wang Wanzhi. Luo Qingyan looked up at the two indifferently, took a memorial and began to read it.
Yun Shang returned to Weiyang Palace with Hua'er. As she expected, the courtyard in front of the main hall was full of maids and eunuchs, and Li Fuhua stood aside, talking something to Qin Yi. Qin Yi's face was calm. She was checking the servants one by one, carefully examining their faces to see if there was any obvious flaw and asking them some questions. She called the ones who she thought were suitable to come out of the line and stand behind her.
Li Fuhua followed Qin Yi with a big smile on his face. When he saw Weiyang Palace coming in from the gate of Weiyang Palace, he immediately came up to her and said, "Greetings. Your Majesty."
Yun Shang nodded indifferently and glanced at the servants in the yard. She smiled and said, "Lord Li, you're so quick. I just left here for a short while sending a bowl of soup to His Majesty, and you've already brought the servants here."
"It's my duty. I'm trying my best to do what Your Majesty ordered." With a flattering smile on his face, Li Fuhua said, "Your Majesty, do you want to see if there is anyone you like among these servants?"
Yun Shang raised her eyebrows, but her eyes were filled with displeasure. "Do I need to bother myself with such a trifle? Qin Yi will handle it. She'll make the decision."
Li Fuhua replied in a hurry. Yun Shang stopped talking and walked towards the main hall.
As soon as she entered the inner hall, Yun Shang ordered Hua'er to make tea. Hua'er answered in a hurry, putting the hamper on the table, and went out to make tea.
When the yard quieted down after a while, Qin Yi came in and said with a smile, "Your Majesty, I've chosen thirty-two people in total, sixteen maids and sixteen eunuchs. Four of them are chosen to serve around you. I'll ask them to pack up their things first, and later I'll bring them for you to check."
Yun Shang nodded and smiled, "I trust your taste."
Qin Yi replied with a smile. Then she went to the hamper and was about to take it away, but she found that it seemed to be a little heavy when she picked it up. She asked in surprise, "Hasn't His Majesty drunk the soup?" As saying, she lifted the lid of the hamper.
Yun Shang was stunned for a while before understanding what Qin Yi meant. She shook her head and said, "His Majesty has drunk the soup we sent to him. It's the soup that had been sent to Meeting Hall by the imperial kitchen at the order of His Former Majesty before I went there. His Majesty didn't drink it. I thought that it was inappropriate for him not to drink the soup sent by His Former Majesty, so I took it back with me. Just take it away."
Qin Yi nodded and took a look at the bowl in the box. When she was about to close the lid, she frowned and picked up the cold soup and smelled it.
Seeing this, Yun Shang smiled and said, "The people in the imperial kitchen are really not careful. The soup smelled fishy. How could they send it to the Emperor?"
Qin Yi shook her head with shock on her face. She turned to Yun Shang and said, "Your Majesty, this is not ordinary nourishing soup. This is..." Qin Yi suddenly stopped.
Yun Shang frowned. Judging from Qin Yi's expression, there must be something wrong with the soup. She asked in a hurry, "What kind of soup is it?"
As soon as she finished her question, Qin Yi came to her senses. She looked at Yun Shang in surprise, "Your Majesty, do you mean His Former Majesty?"
Yun Shang nodded, "Who else could it be?"
That was why someone could do it in the strictly monitored kitchen and why Liu Wenan kept silence though he must have noticed it. And that also explained why they just offer hot foods which was not fatal.
Yun Shang even wanted to laugh when she recalled that Wang Wanzhi didn't wear her loose uniform in Meeting Hall. Xia Huanyu has made great efforts to set Luo Qingyan up.
He ordered the kitchen to serve so many hot foods for meals for several days in a row, and the sent him the cow cod soup which was reputed to be an aphrodisiac. Yun Shang thought that it might not be the first time that Xia Huanyu sent this kind of soup to Luo Qingyan.
Then he ordered Wang Wanzhi to assist Luo Qingyan, being around him all day. With the effect of these food and soup, if Luo Qingyan couldn't control himself for a moment, Xia Huanyu's plan would succeed.
Qin Yi was even more furious. "His Former Majesty has been separated from Her Former Majesty for so many years. I heard that he only favored her in the imperial household before she disappeared. I thought he would understand His Majesty better, but I didn't expect him to be such a mean person. We shouldn't have brought Her Former Majesty back to the Jin City to spare him the bitterness of lovesickness."
Hearing this, Yun Shang laughed. "Yes. I understand His Former Majesty, but I have still been infuriated by him. I hate it the most when someone resort to every conceivable means to plant other women around His Majesty."
Yun Shang's hand gently stroked the edge of the teacup. The teacup was a little hot, but sheseemed not to notice it at all. She smiled and said, "I heard that when Her Former Majesty was still Lady Zhao, she was very affectionate with old General Zhao. They used to be quite a lovely couple. Write a letter to our people in the Imperial City of the State of Ning and ask them to go to the Zhao mansion. Find a token of love between them, or some letters and gifts." Upon hearing this, Qin Yi replied in a hurry, "Okay, I'll do it right now."
After a pause, Yun Shang continued, "There are still many Grand Imperial Concubines in the Palace now. Tell them that they could go to Taihe Palace to greet His Former Majesty when they have time."
