Chapter 683: 186: All the stars surround the moon, infinite scenery_3
She wore a deep purple bathrobe, her eyebrows and eyes were less dominant than usual, and she looked softer.
Zhao Shen gazed at her, as if seeing the shy young girl from fifteen years ago. His heart stirred for a moment as he moved to embrace Shangguan Furong, only to be roughly pushed away by her, “You’re sleeping in the guest room tonight!”
Shangguan Furong was still upset about what had happened at the engagement banquet today, so she naturally wasn’t pleased with Zhao Shen.
As for Shangguan Furong’s orders, Zhao Shen never dared to disobey. He gathered up his bedding and change of clothes, shoved open the door, and began walking towards the study.
Zhao Shen just reached the living room when the old Lady Zhao descended from the stairs above, “Did Furong kick you out again?”
Zhao Shen nodded.
...
Old Lady Zhao heaved a sigh, “How many times has it been this month?”
“Mom, I’m fine.” Zhao Shen continued, “I’m going to bed, you should also go to sleep early.”
Watching Zhao Shen walk towards the study, old Lady Zhao furrowed her brow deeply. She walked over, picked up the telephone, and dialed a number.
After hanging up, old Lady Zhao headed towards the Buddha Hall in the backyard.
The Zhao family’s study was quite large. Having freshly emerged from the bathroom, the telephone on the desk began to ring.
Zhao Shen walked over to answer it, “Hello?”
A soft and urgent female voice came from across the line, “Hello? Is this Sister Furong?”

It was clearly Lin Fang’s voice.
“This is Zhao Shen.” fгeewebnovёl.com
There was a moment of pause on the other side of the line. Then came the voice, “Brother-in-law, I’m at a public telephone booth on Cart Road. It’s raining heavily outside, my bicycle has been stolen, and I think someone has been following me. Can…can you help me?”
“Other than Sister Furong, I really can’t find anyone else to help me.”
As she spoke her last words, Lin Fang’s voice was filled with a sobbing tone. She sounded lonely and helpless, completely irresistible.
Zhao Shen was inherently a righteous man; faced with such a situation, he naturally couldn’t ignore it. “Alright! Stay right there, I’ll be right there.”
“Th-thank you… brother-in-law.” Lin Fang hung up the phone, her face streaked with tears, yet a smirk of triumph played at the corner of her mouth.
It rained heavily.
The rain plinked and plonked upon the eaves, even mixed with bits of snow.
Zhao Shen drove off, the headlight in the dark splitting the night with a ray of stark white light, illuminating his way.
Zhao Shen couldn’t escape from her grasp after all.
“Thank you for coming, Brother-in-law.” Lin Fang choked out.
“Get in the car, I’ll take you home.”
“Okay.” Lin Fang nodded.
The two got in the car and Zhao Shen handed Lin Fang a dry towel, “Wipe your face.”
“Thank you, Brother-in-law,” Lin Fang accepted the towel and then asked, “Can I call you by your name?”
That question carried a deep implication.
Zhao Shen fell silent, “Furong is older than you, it’s better if you call me brother-in-law.”
At his words, although Lin Fang’s face showed disappointment, she did not feel disheartened in her heart.
Zhao Shen hadn’t pushed her away earlier, indicating that he was wavering.
Some things, had to be taken step by step.
Zhao Shen started the engine to leave. Just as the car reached the foot of the building, Lin Fang said, “I don’t want to go home.”
“Then where do you want to go?” Zhao Shen turned his head to look at Lin Fang.
