Rebirth: Leading Families to Survive in the Apocalypse novel Chapter 166

Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Progress

“That, that Yifan over there”

Lin Tianhui said, looking at Liao Yifan who was still trying to pour water into Guo Yang’s mouth. Guo Yang had clearly just moved his hand, and now he was squinting at Liao Yifan.

Being fed water by Fanfan himself, even if it hurts your teeth, you have to endure it.

It wasn’t until Guo Yang obediently drank the water that Liao Yifan realized he had woken up.

“You’re awake, that’s great!”

Liao Yifan stood up and said happily.

But she forgot that Guo Yang’s head had been resting on her lap, so the just-awakened Guo Yang fell down with a thump again.

Everyone: …

Thankfully, the cushion Su Jin had taken out was a rather thick and soft yoga mat, otherwise he probably would’ve fainted again from the fall.

Liao Yifan then came to her senses and quickly squatted down to apologize.

“It’s okay, Fanfan, I’m, I’m okay, just a bit dizzy in the head,”

Guo Yang said, feigning weakness. In fact, after being cared for by Su Jin, Mrs. Su, and Lin Tianhui, and drinking the sweet water just now, he felt incredibly energized!

Moreover, his special ability had successfully advanced to Level Two, and the capacity of his space had doubled in size!

The others had already seen through the act, so they quietly dispersed.

Only Liao Yifan was still worried, fearing that her carelessness had caused Guo Yang to fall again, and she knelt beside him to check the back of his head.

Seeing that Guo Yang was alright, everyone sat down on the sofas to rest for a while. They had all had a tiring day, not just from killing so many zombies but also from dealing with a few shameless people trying to cut in on their action.

“Su Jin, hand me a bag of potato chips, I’ve been wanting to eat them all day,” said Lin Xiuyuan, who had just washed his hands with soap.

Su Jin smiled and brought out several bags of potato chips, sunflower seeds, sweet potato sticks, nuts, and other snacks to the table, eliciting cheers from everyone as they began chatting and eating.

Local Tyrant Gold munched happily on a cashew nut, and even Lu Hao was fed a sweet potato stick by Su Jin.

Yum, sweet and chewy, the snacks chosen by his wife were delicious, so Lu Hao paced forward and bit off the other half of the sweet potato stick Su Jin was holding.

Su Jin: …

She awkwardly looked around and saw that no one was paying attention to them, as they were all busy chatting and eating. Relieved, she stuffed a few more sweet potato sticks into Lu Hao’s palm before confidentally opening a pack of dried kiwi to eat.

She had a penchant for various dried fruits, and even though they were high in sugar, she couldn’t resist her love for them, especially after seeing them today in the snack section.

“Don’t eat too many snacks, we still have dinner later,” said Lin Tianzhen helplessly, watching everyone indulge, even as Mao Zhihang joined Mao Qiqi in tasting different flavors of QQ candy.

“Auntie, it’s just past three o’clock, dinner time is still a long way off,” Lin Xiuyuan crunched on his potato chips and said. If only they had a TV right now, he thought. Maybe he would go back to his room later and watch something in his space; he had downloaded lots of anime and movies.

“Mom, you eat some too,”

Mao Qiqi opened another pack of grape-flavored QQ candy and handed it to Lin Tianzhen. She couldn’t stop eating the QQ candy once she started; she didn’t know why, but Sister Xiao Jin had given them a large box of it.

While everyone else was resting, Su Jin gave Lu Hao a look and then returned to her room, hoping he would help keep watch outside. If anyone called for her, he could go to the Space to fetch her.

After all, the loot from an entire supermarket was still at the entrance to the Space, and she didn’t know if it had scared her grandparents.

Li Xiuying and Lin Yunguo, while tinkering with the vacuum packaging machine inside the Space, saw two rows of shelves falling from the sky. At first, they didn’t pay much attention, but then they noticed more and more things being brought in from outside, including boxes of goods and eventually bags of rice, flour, cooking oil, and snacks like beverages.

“This is way too much. We could practically go grocery shopping now,” Lin Yunguo said after waiting for no more items to come in and cautiously circled around to look.

“Isn’t that obvious? There’s still prices from the ** supermarket on the items,” Li Xiuying remarked as she picked up a ceramic bowl. Thankfully, she didn’t drop and shatter such nice items.

“There are also lots of toys,” she added.

Lin Yunguo and Li Xiuying laughed; surely, these were items Xiao Jin and Xiao Hao had gathered for their future great-grandchildren.

When Su Jin entered the Space, she carefully controlled her landing spot to avoid damaging any items. She didn’t expect her grandparents to have already cleared the things that had been right in the middle of the stone platform. Their logistic support was spot on.

“Grandma, I’m here,” she called out.

As soon as she entered, she saw the two of them in front of the toy shelves. Were they having a supermarket spree?

“Xiao Jin, come here. How did you bring in so many things today?” she asked.

While moving items into Lu Residence, Su Jin explained to the elders about what had happened that day. Lin Yunguo was deeply moved; the world today was almost like the times of famine they had experienced. Back then, when they managed to get a little food, they too had to hide it and eat secretly. If their famished neighbors saw it, even if they couldn’t snatch it, the neighbors would bear a grudge.

It never crossed his mind that his descendants would have to experience such things. Thankfully, they had Xiao Hao’s Space; otherwise, surviving in this Apocalypse would have been far too difficult.
