Purchased A Mr. Right novel Chapter 1228

Adam moved away the champagne cup and put two delicate pastries on Anthea's plate.

Then, he used the fork and put the pastry near her mouth.

As she thought that no one was paying attention to them, Anthea had a mouthful of the pastry, and the rest was eaten up by Adam.

However, Amelie indeed had been looking at them all along.

Out of anger and jealousy, her fingers curled up hard, and her nails sank deeply into the skin and flesh.

What on earth did Adam like about Anthea?

Amelie could not understand it: Other than being young and beautiful, she could not find any other advantages in Anthea. She believed that at least she would have an overwhelming advantage over Anthea in terms of general conditions. Why? Why could Anthea attract Adam so deeply, that others would barely believe it?

Amelie was unwilling to admit failure. She consoled herself that Adam was just too lonely, or that it was just a whim for him to fall in love with Anthea!

Bellamy Chin, Adam's father, had invited her again and again. It was obvious that this old man was on her side. He wanted her to become his daughter-in-law in the future.

Amelie tried to calm herself down.

There was an old man who was watching Adam and Amelie when they chatted, and he also noticed that Adam walked back to Anthea after talking with Amelie. This old man was none other than Bellamy Chin, Adam's father.

His wife, Meadow, frowned and complained to him, "Bellamy, why did you invite Amelie here again?"

"Why couldn't I? " Bellamy snorted.

Meadow argued, "Can't you see Adam's attitude clearly? He doesn't have any feelings for Amelie as a lover. He obviously likes that little girl, Anthea. It's so embarrassing for you to invite Amelie here!"

Bellamy said, "I just want that girl called Anthea to know who's the more suitable girl to be with Adam. I want her to give up!"

"You just don't like Anther for being so young!" Meadow pointed out.

"How to you know that?" Bellamy scoffed. "You're an old woman now, but your wisdom has not increased as you got older! Anthea's just a naive young girl. How can she stay with our son on a lifelong basis?

Adam is a soldier, and Anthea's just like a flower in a greenhouse. She hasn't even stepped into society yet. It's true. Now she likes Adam, but can you guarantee that she will love him forever?

"What's more, it's very risky to work for the military. Adam might encounter all kinds of dangerous situations at any time. Could Anthea help him to deal with them? Is it so easy to be a military spouse?

"But Amelie is quite different. She's about the same age as Adam, and grew up together with him.

They're both working for the military. It will be easy for them to balance their life and work if they get married!"

Meadow was speechless for a while, and then she retorted.

"You're such a stubborn and old-fashioned donkey, Bellamy!

Anthea finally chose to drink a glass of Coca-Cola, and did not eat any other things. She was simply afraid that if she ate too much, her stomach would become bloated under the dress, and therefore she would become less good-looking in the banquet.

Someone walked up to them. He was a servant from the Chin Family. "Young Master, the Old Master asked the two of you to go over there!"

"Okay." Adam nodded.

Bellamy asked Adam and Anthea to go over there to meet him. They walked over together.

Bellamy stood together with his wife, Meadow. In front of them was a foreign man about forty years old. His eyes were blue, and he was tall and strong. He seemed to be a veteran. From the attitude of Bellamy and Meadow, it could be deduced that this foreign man should be a distinguished guest tonight.

Amelie was also there.

She bent down and held up a little boy, who was a mixed-race child. It seemed that this was the son of the foreign man.

As a female soldier, Amelie had to receive military training all the year round. Her arms were thus very strong. It was not hard for her to hold up such a seven- or eight-year-old child, and she could hold him steadily. The little boy seemed to like her very much. He embraced her neck and did not want to let go.

In fact, she knew the fact that between she and Amelie, Bellamy obviously liked the latter more.

Amelie laughed mockingly in her heart.

She raised her red lips and deliberately turned to look at Anthea with a smile. "Miss Lee, will you feel bored when we are chatting? If you don't understand our language, you may just feel that you can't join us. How about taking a rest over there?"

Her eyes fell on Anthea's face, as if she was very considerate to Anthea.

If anyone looked at Amelie now, he/she would think that she was really a kindhearted girl.

Anthea narrowed her eyes.

She then took a step forward, showing two shallow dimples.

She nodded slightly at the foreign man and slowly said, "Hallo, Mr. Hank, Willkommen in Califorania! Ihr Sohn 1ST sehr suli! (Hello, Mr. Hank. Welcome! Your son is lovely!)"

Hank naturally felt happy to be flattered. He was especially pleased because Anthea praised his son.

"Danke, schone Frau! (Thank you, beautiful lady!)" Hank stuttered.

Anthea smiled politely and replied, "Nichts zu danken (You're welcome!)"

Amelie's face froze as if she had been slapped by an invisible hand.

Bellamy looked at Anthea in surprise.

"Anthea, how can you speak it, too?" Meadow pulled the edge of Anthea's clothes, also in surprise. She was a little excited.

Anthea got closer to Meadow and blinked her eyes wittily. She then put on a sly smile and said in a low voice, "Haha...! Auntie, actually, I can only say two or three sentences!"
