In the blink of an eye, it was the day that Anthea was discharged from the hospital.
She had stayed in the hospital for six days. After completing the discharge formalities, they went to the doctor's office together. There were some doctor's instructions that they had to follow after leaving the hospital.
Last night, a nurse sent Anthea a pair of crutches.
Since her leg was injured, she could not move around freely without the aid of crutches. However, with the company of Adam, there was no need for her to use crutches - he put her in his arms and went straight to the doctor's office.
It was not a big deal for Adam.
After all, he was a very strong man who could carry her all the way up to the mountain!
The doctor in white coat patiently reminded, "When discharged from the hospital, you should try to raise your legs high as often as you can, which can improve the venous blood return in your lower limbs and reduce the swelling. Besides, you can do some functional training, but don't exercise intensely. Remember to come back to the hospital for a check within half a month. As for the food, you should eat more variety food rich in calcium and avoid stimulating food, such as soybeans, peanuts, and taros!"
"Mm." Adam made a mental note in silence.
Anthea, who had been waiting for the doctor to finish, could not wait to ask, "How long will it take to tear down the cast on my leg?"
"At least a month," the doctor told her after considering it for a while.
When Anthea heard this, she said, raising her thin eyebrows, "It's such a long time! Can't we do it earlier?"
Somehow, Adam cupped his hand behind his thin lips, feeling a little embarrassed.
The doctor shook his head and said with certainty, "Little girl, that's impossible!
You're very lucky this time. Fortunately, you're young and healthy. Otherwise, it would normally take more than a month or two months to take it down!"
"Oh, okay!" Anthea nodded helplessly.
As soon as they walked out of the hospital building, she saw Carter running over with a sycophantic smile.
He jumped out of the military truck and pulled down the two suitcases behind him from the truck. He
greeted her from far away, "Ow, Mrs. Chin!"
Anthea's lips twitched with amusement.
Carter rushed toward them like a bolt of lightning. "Captain Chin," He greeted Adam and then smiled at her cheerfully. "Hey, Mrs. Chin, congratulations on leaving the hospital!"
"Thank you!" Anthea smiled back at him.
Fearing that the cold wind would blow on her, Adam opened the door and let her in.
When the door was closed, Carter immediately leaned over and reported happily, intending to take some credit, "Captain Chin, I've done all the things you asked me to do! The two basters will spend the rest of their lives in prison! How could they be so bold to insult Mrs. Chin? I've informed the people in the prison and made sure that they'll live a miserable life there!"
"Good." Adam nodded.
Carter continued excitedly. "Also, look, I've packed up for you two. Every single item of yours has been taken care of, including the military uniform and two pairs of underwear that Mrs. Chin had washed for you before she was hospitalized!"
Adam swept over the suitcases, his thin lips curling up. "Carter, you've done a good job this time.
Thanks."
HUH?
Captain Chin praised him! He praised him!
Carter was so excited that he almost cried.
Throughout the year, Adam reproached and punished him a lot, but had never praised Carter with such a gentle smile!
When Carter's eyes were still brimming with grateful tears, he heard Adam adding lightly, "I'll take your home leave this year."
After all, it would take lots of days for Anthea's bone to recover.
Adam was worried about her and decided to take care of her. Though Gavin had given him his vacation, he had only a month in total. So...
Anthea pursed her lips.
She was not disobedient at all. It was obvious that he had been lured away by some bewitching women outside, and she was so depressed that she accompanied Kairi to go out for toilets.
Anthea, who only dared to criticize him in her heart, muttered a few words to him, "Rest assured and go to visit your parents. I will wait for you at home!"
"Okay." Adam touched her head.
After kissing her face lightly with his thin lips, he took the car key and left.
Then Anthea was alone at home. She was very obedient - except for eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom, she spent most of her time watching romantic TV series.
When she watched two episodes in a row, the sun sank outside gradually.
When only a trace of sunset glow remained on the horizon, her phone rang.
Anthea knew who called even without looking at her phone. She smiled, revealing two faint dimples on her cheeks, and said, "Hello?"
"Anthea, have you eaten yet?"
A deep voice came, and she grinned. "No, I'll eat it later!"
"The meal is in the refrigerator. Drink the bone soup to get some calcium. Remember to heat it in the microwave."
Anthea was amused, for he had already said that once.
Nevertheless, it did not bother her at all, and only made her feel sweet and happy. "Hmm!"
"When are you coming back?" Anthea asked in passing.
Before Adam could answer her, she heard footsteps from the other end of the line, and then there came a familiar female voice. "Adam, dinnertime! Your mom and dad sent me to tell you that!" The woman said gently with joy.
