Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 5126

Goliry was overcome with joy and relief when he finally agreed. "Get on with it, then."

Darryl smiled and nodded."My idea's pretty simple. All you have to do is cling to me, and your burning sensation will be gone."

Darryl grinned at Goliry and looked at her up and down as he spoke.

Darryl was purposefully teasing Goliry. That woman was always putting on airs. How could he pass up the opportunity to have some fun?

Yet, Darryl was not speaking complete nonsense. With his sage body, all Goliry had to do was cling to him, and she would be immune to the heat.

Goliry jerked as her face flushed red and her chest pounded in humiliation at the words.

Darryl Darby was such a b*stard! He had not had enough of taking advantage of her and wanted to touch her as well. How could she look anyone in the eyes after that?

Goliry could not take it amid her rage and shock, so she glared at Darryl and yelled, "How dare you trick me! Are you trying to die?" As she spoke, she drew her longsword once again in one swift move.

How could she maintain her reputation if news of her, the Saint of the Red Shirt Crusade, was teased by one of the Quad Ocean Sect bastards to that extent?

Darryl did not become alarmed at the sight of the longsword. He sighed and said, "Why are you always threatening to kill me? I'm not lying to you; everything I said was true.

"I rescued my cousin from a massive fire about a year ago. I carried her out on my back, expecting her to be burned, but she was perfectly fine.

"So I'm telling you I know what I'm talking about, and that's why I'm saying what I'm saying. Please don't think I'm trying to take advantage of you."

Darryl's face was solemn as he spoke, but he was laughing on the inside.

Goliry's face was expressionless as she remained silent, her chest swaying in persuasion.

If he was telling the truth, that was the only way it could work.

However, she still had to keep her purity. It would be extremely embarrassing for him to carry her.

"Forget it!"

Darryl pretended to shrug when he noticed Goliry's hesitation. "If you don't want to do it, you can pretend I didn't say anything. I suppose you could kill me. I can say that dying at the hands of such a beauty was well worth it."

Darryl's arms tightened around Goliry's legs as he walked quickly forward in search of the cave's exit.

Goliry was as stiff as a spring, refusing to move. Darryl's arms around her legs, thumping up and down as he walked, elicited an odd sensation in her.

What really surprised her was that when she got close to Darryl, all she felt was a cooling sensation that made the sweltering heat around her bearable.

It was truly incredible.

Goliry was taken aback when she realized that.

Darryl seemed ordinary, but his body was actually fire-resistant.

"You—"

After a while, Goliry noticed that Darryl's hands appeared to have shifted position after a while, and her face flushed instantly. "Don't... do not raise your hands so high..."
