Cranos was sitting quietly with a sullen expression on his face. Thinking back to what happened, he was wordless with rage. A person with integrity like Yarl should have not thought of such an idea.
'Conquest the Fiend Soul of Lord Morticia? What a treacherous act!' After dwelling on it for a few seconds, Cranos decided to stop thinking and started to meditate. He had been using his internal energy to suppress the poison in Morticia's body. He needed to recover as soon as possible since his internal energy was running low.
Just then, there was someone walking outside of the camp. Followingly, someone had entered the camp. With minimal lighting available, the handsome face was hinted at with a slightly gloomy and complicated expression. It was Yarl.
Cranos quickly opened his eyes when he heard the voices. He frowned when he saw it was Yarl. "Yarl? Why are you here again?" He was still annoyed with the idea Yarl had suggested.
Suddenly, Yarl kneeled down and a guilty expression on his face, "Uncle, I was wrong. I shouldn't have thought of that idea. I am such a scumbag. You were right. Lord Morticia is the only hope we have left and she had done so much for the fiend race. I hope you will forgive me for suggesting such a treacherous idea."
The sincerity on Yarl's face convinced Cranos that he was not lying. Cranos took a deep breath. "As long as you know you are wrong, everything else does not matter. Don't put such nonsense ideas in your head anymore. Alright, get up."
Cranos was relieved to see how Yarl acknowledge the mistake he made. The depressing feeling he felt was gone.
"Yes, uncle!" Yarl responded while standing up slowly. His facial expression looked sincere and humble but there was a hint of gloom in his eyes.
Cranos smiled. "It's getting late. Go rest." He planned to continue his meditation to recover his internal energy.
Yarl nodded but did not intend to leave.
In the end, the palm slammed into Cranos' heart and a dull sound erupted. Cranos stared at Yarl angrily while howling weakly. He staggered back a few steps, and finally collapsed on the ground, spurting blood everywhere.
"You…you…traitor…murdering your elder…" The pain struck. Cranos glared at Yarl and howled weakly. He could clearly feel his heart was shattered. Without the luxury of finishing his sentence, he swallowed his last breath and passed away with his eyes widened to show his grudge.
Yarl stood there and took many deep breaths to calm himself down when he saw Cranos was finally dead. 'I succeeded, I actually succeeded. Since Cranos is dead, I will be the new head of the clan.' Yarl looked down at the dead body and did not feel any sadness.
"Don't blame me, Uncle. You are too old-fashioned and conservative. This is the best option for our clan. I can only cut off all means of retreat." Yarl mumbled to himself.
As the last sentence was spoken, he snapped his finger.
