The White Tiger King knew that it was Mona's fault. The Black Tortoise King was not at fault at all, even though he raised his hand toward her.
However, Mona was his daughter. No father would have been able to watch that happen without doing anything about it.
The White Tiger King and the Black Tiger King's fists collided with dull thuds. Their brows furrowed as both of them stumbled backward from the impact.
It was clear that the blow had not determined a clear winner.
The rage in the Black Tortoise King's heart grew. How dare the White Tiger King protect his daughter after that?
At the same time, he was in shock as well.
The White Tiger King's strength had increased dramatically since he came out of captivity.
The Black Tortoise King could clearly sense that the White Tiger King had not used all his strength to meet the attack, but he had used a great deal of his.
The results had only come to a draw in a situation like that.
If the White Tiger King had used his full strength, he would maim him for sure.
At that realization, the Black Tortoise King was not only angry but also envious.
"White Tiger King!"
The Black Tortoise King snapped back to his senses quickly enough. He asked coldly, "What are you doing?"
The White Tiger King took a deep breath and tried to calm down. "I mean no ill intent, Your Majesty. Mona is at fault, but killing her won't solve anything. In fact, I think she's right. We need to focus on finding Oliver."
As he spoke, the White Tiger King's expression was one of complete sincerity.
Yet the Black Tortoise King did not seem to buy any of it. He said mockingly, "Save the pretenses, the White Tiger King. I know you're just trying to protect your darling daughter. Well, I'm going to kill her today."
The Black Tortoise King had gone hysterical with rage. He had lost all control and sense.
The White Tiger King took a deep breath and hardened his resolve. "Then I'll just have to make sure you don't do that."
His voice was not loud, but it rang with authority.
She had found out about Mona cutting Oliver's legs off. She had rushed there immediately upon finding out that the Black Tortoise King would teach Mona a lesson over it.
When she sensed the tension in the room, Colori Phoenix could already guess what had happened. She stared at the White Tiger King and asked, "You fought?"
"Yes."
The White Tiger King nodded, proceeding to describe what had just happened.
Then, Colori Phoenix turned to Mona helplessly. "Mona, that was really reckless of you."
Colori Phoenix pondered for a brief moment, then continued to say, "If Oliver had not received any help outside of the Demon tribe after you cut his legs off, he'd be dead for sure. What will happen if the Black Tortoise King discovers his body and declares war on the White Tiger tribe?"
The White Tiger King sighed. "Well, we're here now. What else is there to do but fight?"
"You—"
Colori panicked at his words. She stomped her feet. "We can't have an internal war, not with how things are now. Just think about it—if that were to happen, the Godly Region and fiend race would surely take the opportunity to attack us."
