Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 4115

Grunt's heart pounded with fear, the gears in his brain working furiously. "That Darryl Darby could be a fake, Your Majesty. Even if he was real, Archfiend Antigonus could have found a way to revive him."

Grunt's face was the picture of sincerity. "I've always been loyal to you, haven't I, Your Majesty? I would never dare to lie to you."

Grunt did not have the nerve to lie. However, when Darryl remained silent as Grunt spoke, he realized that Darryl's voice was sealed. That spurred Grunt on to speak recklessly.

The Nine Heaven Emperor took a deep breath. His expression shifted, sinking deep into thought.

At the same time, the officials also had unreadable expressions on their faces.

"Enough!"

The Nine Heaven Emperor came to his senses, calling out to Grunt. "Get up. I won't fault you for that."

The Emperor soared into mid-air, meeting Archfiend Antigonus' gaze. He smirked, "You haven't got anything on me with your tricks, Archfiend Antigonus. My son-in-law, Darryl Darby, died in your Blood Sacrifice of Fiends two days ago. Threatening me with a fake one—you must think you're funny, don't you?"

The Nine Heaven Emperor did not look at Darryl while he spoke, his demeanor stone cold.

The Nine Heaven Emperor had been greatly torn on what to do. However, Grunt's words seem to make him realize something—as long as he refused to acknowledge that the man before him was Darryl, he would be able to get away with not doing anything.

On top of that, he would not have to worry about his reputation being affected.

What?

Archfiend Antigonus' face flushed an ugly red.

What did the Nine Heaven Emperor imply? That the Darryl Darby he had seized was a fake one?

The Emperor had abused his power by not acknowledging his son-in-law—what a monster.

Motherf*cker!

At the same time, Darryl froze as well. He felt utterly helpless and impossibly furious.

How very ruthless of the Nine Heaven Emperor!

Darryl knew he did not come from the Godly Region. Yet it was undeniable that he had tried to stop Archfiend Antigonus from reviving the fiend folks, on top of being Princess Dorothy's Prince Consort.

Yet the Nine Heaven Emperor was refusing to acknowledge Darryl for the sake of his own throne and power.

Grunt, as well as the other officials, followed closely behind.

Archfiend Antigonus' expression darkened. He had never expected that the Emperor would be so heartless to not care about Darryl's life at all. His attempt at blackmail was considered a complete failure.

"Return to camp!'

Archfiend Antigonus shouted coldly. He zipped off in the direction of the camp like a jet-black bolt of lightning.

The fiend army followed him, bringing Darryl with them. They dared not delay at all.

Back at the camp, Archfiend Antigonus sat fuming.

He knew the Nine Heaven Emperor was no stranger to false kindness, but he did not think he would be that despicable. He was utterly uncaring of whether his son-in-law lived or died, all for the sake of his own reputation.

Archfiend Antigonus grew with rage the more he thought about the situation. His eyes were bloodshot red.

The Fiend Martyrs stood in silence. None of them dared to speak.
