Skylar smiled. "Not for now. You may return to the Carter family and I'll find a way to inform you of any plans."
Yvette nodded and said goodbye to Skylar.
…
Meanwhile, Darryl, Mona and dozens of the Demon Warriors had been walking for a while in the Godly Region. Finally, they left the forest and came to a meandering stream. It was gurgling and crystal clear. Darryl's mood lightened up at the sight of it and he thought he would finally be able to quench his thirst.
From passing out at the blood sacrifice to being rescued by Mona and the others, until then, it had been almost half a day and Darryl had not had a gulp of water. He was extremely thirsty. More importantly, he broke his leg and needed to restore his hydration.
"Let's take a rest. I'd like to drink some water by the river," Darryl said to Mona as he pointed at the stream ahead and licked his chapped lips. "
Immediately, Mona frowned and said impatiently, "Why do you have so many requests? After crossing this river, they would be near the demon's territory. Just hang in there."
Her voice was cold and stern.
Though Darryl had used the Groot Formation to protect everyone from the fiend race warriors' attack, Mona was still insistent in her perspective towards Darryl. To her, Darryl telling everyone to hold a tree branch to avoid the attack of the fiend race warriors was just a trick and they got lucky. More importantly, they were reaching their territory and Mona did not want to delay it any further.
'D*mn it. Isn't she too cruel? She won't even let me drink some water,' Darryl was flabbergasted at what Mona said.
"If I don't drink some water now, I'll die soon. If I'm dead, who will help you avoid the fiend race warriors?" he said.
Mona thought about it and waved to a few demons. "The few of you, bring him to get some water."
She was not willing to compromise, but he was right. In case he dies, and if the fiend race warriors appear again, everyone would be in danger.
Then, he took a deep breath and pointed at the demons nearby. "They shouldn't let go of the tree branches and must always stand according to the previous sequence."
Mona's anger subsided and she waved to the demons. "Did you hear him? Don't throw away the tree branches and stand according to your positions."
Then, she turned to Darryl and said, "In this case, you may go to the river to drink on your own."
However, Darryl stood still and leaned against a tree, snickering at Mona. Although she was young and had a rather rude personality, she had delicate features and a graceful figure. She was capable of driving men crazy, especially after walking in the forest for half a day. She had rosy cheeks and the sweat on her forehead was rather charming.
Mona was unhappy with the way Darryl looked at her and cried out, "What are you looking at? Aren't you going to get some water to drink? Hurry up!"
Darryl smiled and pointed at his broken leg. "Miss Mona, look at me. How am I supposed to go to the river on my own."
