Then, the corners of his lips curled upward, and his eyes flickered with joy. "Miss Debra, Dax had fallen under a unique cultivation method of mine. The only way to save him now is to feed him my blood, but doing that will take a lot out of me. By the way, I've always treated you kindly even though you kept ignoring me. How can you ask me to save him when we're not even friends?"

He said that as his eyes sized up Debra's body. He deliberately said that so that Debra would have no choice but to put down her dignity.

Just as he expected, Debra was in a panic, and there was worry written all over her exquisite face. "I will do anything you ask. Anything! As long as you promise to save Dax!"

"Anything?" The smile on Skylar's face widened.

Debra bit her lip and nodded.

Skylar took a sip of his tea leisurely before saying with a smile, "My terms are simple. I will save Dax if you become my woman."

He nervously observed Debra for any changes in her expression. He had set up everything just to make her his woman. However, he did not know how much of a winning chance he had. After all, Debra was utterly in love with Darryl.

Debra was completely taken aback. Her body trembled. 'What? He wants me to be his woman? How can I do that when I'm already with Darryl?'

She bit her lip and, in a soft but determined manner, said, "No way! You must be joking! Anything but that."

Debra immediately panicked and said, "Don't go! Do you really mean what you said just now?"

Her heart trembled. She would agree to his terms if he promised not to force her to do anything she did not like. That was the only way to save Dax, who she thought got hurt because of her. She had no idea how she would ever face Darryl if anything happened to Dax. She had made up her mind to save Dax in any way she could.

"Scout's honor. I would suffer a fate worse than death if there's any untruth in it", Skylar said earnestly, with his hand in a gesture of taking an oath.

"Okay, I promise you," Debra said with a nod.
