Veron stomped her feet in frustration when she realized that the scaled dragon refused to listen to her. She raised her hand to create a barrier to stave off the flames. At first, she found the fire manageable, but gradually her barrier began to show signs of cracking as the scaled dragon continued to spit out flames.

A minute passed, and cracks began to appear on Veron's barrier under the constant extreme temperature.

'Oh, no! what should I do?' She looked at Darryl and was shocked to find that he was unaffected by the heat.

"How…how are you okay?" Veron asked. She was in shock.

Darryl smirked and said, "My body is equipped with the enchanted flame, so those flames can't hurt me."

'What?! His body possessed the enchanted flame as well?' However, she had no time for awe. Her barrier had utterly shattered, and the flames were rushing to her from all directions.

She panicked even more, and she quickly activated her internal energy to make herself immune to the flames. She was strong, so it was difficult for the fire to hurt her skin, but her clothes did not fare so well. Her clothes were burnt to ashes and dissipated with the wind in the blink of an eye.

After a while, the scaled dragon finally stopped spitting out fire. It started to move in the hole while its eye glinted dangerously.

Veron panicked even more. "What is it doing?" Even though it was the very last thing she wanted to do since she hated Darryl so much, he was the one who could communicate with the scaled dragon.

"Need you ask? It was absorbing the moonlight essence to break through its bottleneck until you came along and interrupted him," Darryl said languidly. Then, he glanced at the scaled dragon and said, "It's furious right now. I bet it won't stop until it has eaten you."
