There was no reason for him to stop Skylar from making an *ss of himself.
Debra heaved a sigh of relief, and her face broke out in a smile. She was a bit peeved that Darryl made her accept a gift from another man, but that was all water under the bridge when she realized that was his way of teaching Skylar a lesson.
Skylar's face instantly darkened, and his eyes flashed with anger. 'How dare he say the jade fan is a fake! That has-been must pay with his life for humiliating me!' His anger intensified when he saw the way Darryl was holding onto Debra's shoulder.
He laughed coldly, trying to control his anger. "You say that jade fan is fake? How is it possible for a store as big as this to sell a fake? Are you just saying that because you know you can't afford it?"
At the last sentence, his face turned disdainful.
Darryl smiled and said nothing.
The commotion they caused had attracted a lot of onlookers.
"What's going on?"
"That man there with the two gorgeous women. Isn't that Darryl, the Elysium Gate's former sect master?"
"Who's the other man? He's so handsome and rich! I can't believe he's willing to pay two million for a jade fan."
By then, the owner had finished ringing up the sale.
"Excuse me, sir, Darryl here says that the fan is a fake. Can you please confirm its authenticity?" Skylar asked the owner. His heart was starting to waver when he saw the confidence in Darryl's face.
The Blanc family had lived in seclusion for close to ten thousand years. Skylar had come out into the world a few days ago. Therefore, he knew nothing about antiques.
"That's impossible! Why would I sell a fake when it's my first day of business! I came from a long line of antique sellers and had been in the field since I was five!"
