After a few seconds, Darryl calmed down and then looked at Emperor Aurelias curiously. "Your Majesty, what was the bet you've made with your Junior Brother?"
There was no doubt that Emperor Aurelias lost the bet. Otherwise, he would not have stayed in that dark and skyless Immortal Tomb. Darryl wanted to get to the bottom of everything.
Emperor Aurelias pondered that. A myriad of expressions flickered through his face as he thought about the past. After a few minutes, he slowly said, "My junior brother and I made a bet on human nature. I believed that humans were kind and hardworking, but he thought people were greedy and evil. To prove that, we locked a human in a spirited fruit forest and then gave him a divine power secret manual with a fairy guarding over him all the time.
"I told that person that as long as he did what he was told, he could stay in the Godly Region after cultivating the divine power. However, he was not to leave the forest or eat the fruits. I bet that the person would listen to me and work hard at cultivating the divine power while my junior brother said that the human would definitely eat the spirited fruits. He was sure no one could resist the temptation of adding five hundred more years to their lifespan by eating the fruit."
Darryl laughed and said, "And finally, the human ate the spirited fruit."
"Exactly!" Emperor Aurelias nodded; his expression was a bit complicated. "The human picked the spirited fruit and also defiled the fairy. So, I lost."
'F*ck! That man sure is brave. He ate the spirited fruit and also defiled the fairy!' Darryl thought, stunned.
"According to the agreement, I have to destroy my fairy soul and then enter the Immortal Tomb for meditation, and my junior brother would take over my rule in the Godly Region. I can't believe 30,000 years have passed just like that." Emperor Aurelias said sorrowfully.
Darryl observed Emperor Aurelias' expression after he said the last sentence.
Emperor Aurelias remained silent, deep in thought.
"By the way..."
