To everyone’s astonishment, Jewel merely nodded. "Is that what happened?"
Jewel was gullible. She had not realized Rogart was acting sketchy around her.
Ambrose became anxious when he saw how gullible Jewel was and warned her, “Don’t trust a single word he says. Rogart’s cunning.”
Jewel frowned and then glanced sideways at Rogart. "Is that right?"
‘Damn it! With both Ambrose and Dax around, it’s going to be difficult to fool this woman.’ Rogart was seething in anger.
Then, he smiled at Jewel. "I’m an envoy specially sent to the Nine Mainland by the Nine Heaven Emperor. Why would I lie? It was just a misunderstanding just now."
Then, he looked at Ambrose again. "Perhaps Sect Master Darby is strongly prejudiced against me."
Ambrose stopped talking and sneered. He was reminded of something and whispered to Jewel, "From what I see, Rogart is quite afraid of the Divine Dragon clan. Why don’t you ask him if he can help look for my father."
Ambrose spoke very softly, so only Jewel could hear him.
Jewel was stunned and became inexplicably excited by Ambrose’s suggestion as she gazed intently at him. “Your father? Is there any news about Mister Darryl?”
Ambrose sounded conflicted. When he first heard about Darryl from Yuri, Dax proposed to go fishing for more information from Rogart. However, Chester stopped them due to Rogart’s special identity and also the fact that Darryl broke into the Godly Region without permission. Had they brought the matter up to Rogart impulsively, it might have backfired on them.
Ambrose agreed with Chester. However, he was eager to give it a go when he noticed how polite Rogart was to Jewel.
Jewel nodded without even thinking twice. She was ready to do anything at all cost as long as Darryl would come back safely.
At that instance, Rogart, who was standing on the opposite them, murmured in his head when he saw Ambrose and Jewel were talking and discussing with each other quietly. ‘I wonder what Sect Master Darby and the woman are talking about? Are they discussing how to deal with me?’
