Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 3613

The Ghost Valley Sage smiled and said, "I've already made up my mind. There's no use in trying to convince me otherwise." His tone was determined though his face was a little pale. He had sustained some internal injuries and was sure he would not be able to hold out much longer if another Heavenly Thunderbolt struck him. Still, he was willing to do anything to ensure Darryl's safety.

The Nine Heaven Emperor's face darkened when he heard that. He would not suffer any public humiliation like that. The entire Ghost Mountain was deathly quiet as everyone locked their eyes on the Ghost Valley Sage. He brought out a mixed bag of feelings in them. They could not believe that he would defy the Nine Heaven Emperor again and again. The atmosphere became unbearably suffocating, and the officials, soldiers, and generals dared not breathe too loudly.

Grunt took a step forward, pointed at the Ghost Valley Sage, and shouted, "Is this how you repay His Majesty's kindness? He has given you chances after chances, and yet you turned him down again and again. From the looks of it, you must be the mastermind behind Darryl's impersonation!"

The Ghost Valley Sage chuckled softly and calmly said, "You can say whatever you want. Just know that I won't give up Darryl's whereabouts."

Grunt was stunned. "Your Majesty, you heard it. The Ghost Valley Sage only has Darryl's safety in his mind and treats you as a nobody!"

The Immortal Venerable Balman was shocked that the Nine Heaven Emperor would use the Heavenly Thunderbolt to punish the Ghost Sage Valley. He did not hesitate to beg for his life; the two of them were very good friends. In his mind, Darryl was nothing more than an attendant, and even if he did something wrong, there was no need for the Nine Heaven Emperor to go to such lengths to punish him.

The Nine Heaven Emperor seemed unmoved by the Immortal Venerable Balman, whereas Grunt could not help but say, "Immortal Venerable Balman, this has nothing to do with you. Leave now."
