Finally, Karum snapped out of his fear. "Your Excellency, Darren is too strong for us!" he shouted at Jameson. Three hundred men were gone, just like that. The surviving members of the Bounty Alliance and capital city guards all instinctively took a few steps back, and there was deep fear in their eyes.
Jameson took a deep breath and said, "Why are you all panicking? He had used up so much of his energy, and my bet is he won't last long if we all attack at the same time." Then, he rushed toward Darryl, setting an example for the others.
"Charge!"
"Yes! We need to attack at the same time!"
Karum and the rest of the men charged toward Darryl without hesitation.
"Darren, look out!" Madame Pandora screamed. She badly wanted to help Darryl, but what could a weakling like her do?
Under normal circumstances, Darryl could easily take out all the men there, but they had attacked him when he was at his weakest—he realized he might not make it out alive. 'D*mn it!' Darryl endured the pain and glared at Karum. The man was despicable for ambushing him.
Sensing his gaze, instead of panicking, Karum was actually gloating. "Today is the day you die, Darren. Give up your useless struggle," he shouted vehemently at Darryl. Madeline had kept a torch for Darryl ever since leaving Storm City and had reprimanded Karum for what he did. All of that made Karum furious, and he swore to kill Darryl no matter what. He finally got his chance.
Jameson was very excited, too, and started to praise Karum. "Well done, Your Excellency! Very well done, indeed!" Then he smiled coldly at Darryl and said, "There's no use struggling anymore, Darren! Just be still, and it'll be all over soon!"
