Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 3385

“You’re a knight now and we both work for the Duke. We’re on the same boat. So, I would like to apologize to you today. I’ve prepared a banquet so I hope you won’t refuse my invitation.” Jameson feigned an eager and sincere look, but there was a hint of deviousness in his eyes.

Darryl blinked in disbelief. ‘F*ck! Jameson has never been on good terms with me. Something fishy must be going on if he’s suddenly reaching out and is being nice to me.’

However, it would not be nice if Darryl turned Jameson down outright, so he thought he would figure out what Jameson was up to first.

“That’s such a nice gesture, Mayor,” he muttered and nodded.

Jameson was beaming when he noticed that Darryl had not turned down his invitation.

"I set up the banquet at the back. Please come with me!" he said in a hurry.

Jameson led the way, with Darryl following behind him. Once they arrived in the back room, Darryl was stunned. The room was empty. There was no banquet being set up, not even a table.

Click!

Suddenly, Jameson sneered and pressed a mechanism by the door. Then, a huge black cage plummeted from the ceiling, landing on top of Darryl and trapping him under it.

Chuck! Chuck!

Immediately afterward, cylinders emerged from the four walls of the room, and dozens of palm-sized feather arrows were shot out from the cylinders.

Soon, he snapped back to his senses. He was not bothered to be involved in this nonsense. He activated his internal energy to break through the iron cage but was surprised to find the cage was made of very tough material. He felt his entire body begin to weaken as well.

‘F*ck, is there poison on the feather arrows? Aren’t I supposed to be immune to all kinds of poisons?’ Darryl was shocked and upset.

“Darren, this cage is made of star quartz. Even a saint god wouldn’t be able to break it. Besides, the feather arrows were dipped in a special anesthetic; one does of it can knock out fifty unicorns. You got shot with about six or seven of them, so don’t waste your energy!” Jameson sneered, feeling pleased with himself.

‘So, it turned out to be an anesthetic. No wonder I wasn’t able to muster any strength,’ Darryl thought.

His eyes turned blood-red with rage as he shouted, “Jameson, you despicable, shameless b*stard! You’d better let me go right now or you’ll regret doing this to me!”
