No More Layovers for a Love That Won't Land novel Chapter 49

A little later, York handed her the binoculars and enthusiastically recommended, “Sister–in–law, come see my idol! Number 38! The one in the red racing suit! Super hot and wild!”

Freya wasn’t interested in racing at all, but seeing York’s excitement and being unable to refuse, she reluctantly accepted the binoculars.

She took a quick look through them, then froze.

Raven.

A

CC was actually Raven?

Freya had heard people say that Raven was skilled in all kinds of extreme sports, but she didn’t know she also excelled at racing, and that she could attract so many young men and women who were completely captivated by her.

At this moment, Raven wore a dark red, tight–fitting racing suit. Her tall figure and full, seductive curves were both graceful and elegant, wild yet glamorous she was so eye–catching that it was hard to look away.

Freya adjusted the camera lens and accidentally glanced toward the opposite stands. There, she saw Matteo.

At this moment, it seemed that Matteo, too, was stunned by Raven, watching her intently.

Freya’s hand holding the binoculars tightened.

Just then, the race was about to start.

York hurriedly took the binoculars back.

Freya’s gaze lingered on Matteo for a moment.

Actually, besides Matteo, their daughter, Isabella, and a few of Matteo’s closest friends were also there.

It was obvious that they had all come to cheer for Raven.

Several race cars sped past, vanishing into the distance in the blink of an eye, causing a chorus of

screams.

York grabbed the binoculars and looked for a while before shoving them back into Freya’s hands. “Sister–in–law, look! My idol drives so boldly yet so skillfully! She’s super cool! You have to see this!”

Freya took the binoculars, found Raven, and after a moment, Raven took a risky but perfectly timed

maneuver to overtake at the extreme curve.

The crowd was stunned by her daring move, gasping in amazement.

Freya had never paid attention to racing before.

But at this moment, she was also stunned by Raven’s boldness.

She stood still for a long time, realizing that it made perfect sense for Matteo to be so captivated by

her.

Freya also noticed that even someone as calm and aloof as Matteo showed a clear expression of astonishment and admiration.

Isabella and Levi even jumped out of their seats in excitement.

The race entered its climax.

York once again took the binoculars.

It seemed like he was so focused on Raven that he hadn’t even noticed Matteo and the others.

The race took a brief pause.

Afterward, he returned his gaze to Raven.

His eyes were entirely focused on Raven.

Freya took a deep breath, smiled lightly, and calmly handed the binoculars back to York.

She didn’t watch the rest of the race and didn’t pay attention to Matteo anymore.

Once the race was over, Raven was in first place.

York was ecstatic. He and his friends were eager to go find Raven and ask for her autograph.

“I heard CC is not only a rich heiress, but also a PhD from a prestigious university. Racing is just her hobby. She doesn’t need fans and doesn’t pander to them.

She usually leaves right after the race, never signing autographs, so it’s practically impossible to get one,” one of York’s friends said.

“Yeah, this is a private race, so the chances of getting an autograph were a little higher. But there’s a racing–only passage here, and we have no connections, so we can’t get inside. Oh well…” another friend sighed.

York and his friend were talking when they heard that Raven had already left with her friends to

celebrate.

Stella had already called to hurry her, so Freya rejected York’s request to hang out with his friends and prepared to take him back.

Before leaving, Freya went to the restroom.

When she came out, she ran into someone.
