She sat down by the hospital bed and asked awkwardly, “Gideon, your family…?”

Gideon’s expression turned serious. “Don’t worry. Everyone in the Harvest family is perfectly normal. No history of genetic diseases.”

Claudia stared at him, feeling like she was the one going a little crazy. Her mind was a jumbled mess.

Thinking back on what Gideon's sister-in-law had said, Claudia found herself agreeing. She turned to Gideon.

“Gideon, you got hurt because of me. It’s only right that I take time off to look after you. But I’m worried about the gossip at the hospital. How about I hire a private nurse for you? I’ll cover the medical bills.”

“You focus on your work,” he continued. “Just remember to come see me in the morning, at noon, and in the evening.”

As he spoke, he couldn’t resist reaching out to wrap an arm around her waist. “This is a private Harvest family suite. It’s very secure. You don’t have to be so cautious in here.”

Claudia gently pushed his hand away, but not before Gideon managed to steal a quick kiss.
