Roberts Group had moved to Jarold City for several months, but they hadn't had their own warehouse yet. Many goods, including construction materials, could only be delivered directly from Ucrebury. This was not favorable for Roberts Group, who was gradually developing its own international trading network.
Denmiles was a country that had always been leading the Al industry. Eisen Company had been focusing a lot on developing robots, but the company wasn't managed well, so they had been losing money all the time. Hendrix's decision to acquire the company was not only to obtain their core technology, but also to build his own network of warehouses. He wanted to use robots to identify and distribute goods, so that Roberts Group no longer needed to be dependent on the circle of influencing companies in Jarold City.
Hendrix said, "But it won't be that easy to get to this point. The Denmiles government is worried that once the company is acquired by a foreign company, their technology development will leak out of their country. They're encouraging domestic companies to acquire Eisen Company. Those investors have already emptied the hedge fund of Eisen Company. Everyone isn't very optimistic about the acquisition. The worst part is that the shares of Eisen Company that I own might eventually become worthless."
That was a bet. Even I couldn't help frowning. No wonder Hendrix didn't want to be honest with Rowane.
Once completed, Roberts Group could finally stand strong in Jarold City. Such a big vision, yet Rowane only focused on developing the Al field. Even if she knew the truth, she would not understand.
Maintaining the employees' spirit was a matter that should always be prioritized. After Hendrix returned to the company, I personally called Rowane on the phone.
Rowane was probably still pissed off with Hendrix. After hanging up twice, she finally picked up.
"Oh, Mrs. Roberts, are you here to give me some advice?" Rowane's tone was rude.
I said, "Don't get all defensive at me. I mean no harm."
"Of course not." I smiled and gave her a taste of her own medicine by continuing, "I remember that you always thought you're more suitable for Hendrix, because you're more capable and prettier than me, right?" "What exactly are you trying to say? Are you trying to settle scores right now?" Rowane asked tentatively.
"Don't get me wrong. What I mean is that you're right," I explained. I collected myself and said seriously, "That's why I want to take the postgraduate entrance examination and get a lawyer's certificate. Just as you said, I'm not worthy of Hendrix. That's why I want to go as far as I can so that one day, I can be on the same level as him. Comparably, I hope you can understand that Hendrix has invested so much money in the Research and Development Department. What he wants to see from your results is definitely not like the previous me, the one who was ordinary without any proud achievements. Do you understand what I mean?"
Rowane was always seeking higher achievements. As a highly-skilled technical expert herself, it was understandable that she wouldn't lower her pride. To make her realize her mistake, someone must point out to her that the achievements created by the Research and Development Department weren't as high as she usually sought.
She was too self- righteous. It was time for someone to remind her that she wasn't perfect.
