Freya always did whatever came up to her mind immediately. She didn't care whether Anne liked it or not and ordered Estella, "Personal assistant, right? Hendrix gives you such a high salary, so you should do your work well. Go and make two cups of hot milk for me and Arianna, and buy some latest reference materials for the bar exam. Come back within an hour. We have other arrangements for you."
Hendrix's villa was located in the outskirts of the city. Although it was not too far from the city center, it would take nearly forty minutes to get back and forth by car. Including the time needed for Estella to go shopping for the reference materials, one hour seemed not to be enough.
Estella's face froze for a moment, but she did not dare to lose her temper in front of the fierce-looking, demanding Freya. She nodded obediently and said, "Alright, I'll head off right away."
After that, Estella quickly walked out.
Seeing that she was in such a hurry, I felt a little bad, so I reminded her, "Get a taxi. Remember to keep the receipt and claim your money from the company later."
Estella halted at the same spot and turned around to nod at me gratefully, saying, "Thank you, Mrs. Roberts."
Then, she left without looking back.
Freya rolled her eyes impatiently and scoffed at my behavior for being kind to everyone.
I lifted my eyebrows and pretended not to see anything.
After settling Anne down, I went to the study with Freya. I had bought a lot of reference materials. Although we decided to make a change in our plan, I could still find some useful ones.
Freya sat in a chair, watching me sorting out the reference materials as she enjoyed her hot milk. She then brought up the same conversation again.
Freya was greatly disappointed in my words and looked at me incredulously, lecturing, "Hendrix's who? Who did you say she is again? Only you, Arianna Reid, is Hendrix Roberts' lawfully wedded wife. In other words, Hendrix only belongs to you. He married you because he wanted to give you the right to take care of the little batches around him. What more do you have to worry about? Let me remind you, have you forgotten about the lessons learned from Rowane?"
I paused while holding a book in my hand. I didn't know what to say for a while.
How could Estella be compared to Rowane? Hendrix wasn't even affected by Rowane, who was both beautiful and talented. With just Estella's ability, there was no need to make such a fuss.
I opened my mouth and was about to retort when Minnie suddenly knocked on the door.
"Mrs. Roberts, a guest wants to meet you," Minnie informed.
