When she got outside, she swung Beale’s hand away. “The young ones insulted your wife, but you didn’t defend me!”

“Didn’t that happen because you tried to make a fuss?” Beale said helplessly. “Could Adina, the daughter-in-law, decide on sending Mabel abroad? It was obviously Duke’s order. You’re an outsider. Why do you bother so much?”

“An outsider? Why am I an outsider?” Mandy said angrily. “I’m Duke’s aunt!”
