She quickly looked away and decided to behave herself to stop triggering the man.

It was a quick drive, and the car soon entered the courtyard of the Winters family’s mansion. The moment Adina stepped out of the car, Duke grabbed her into his arms, and they kissed for a minute.

Adina only moved out of Duke’s arms when she heard voices from the house. “There’s a guest. Watch how you behave.”

Duke glanced at the mansion. “It’s Aunt Mandy. She’s not an outsider.”

Adina quickly pulled herself together. Aunt Mandy was not a simple person.

The last time she came to visit Mabel, she said a bunch of bad things about Adina in front of Mabel.

Adina did not care about Mabel’s attitude toward her, but they were a family. If they could get along harmoniously, it was naturally better. But if Aunt Mandy instigated things, Adina was afraid that they might not be able to live under one roof.

Adina smoothed out her clothes and walked inside. Before she got to the door, she heard Aunt Mandy’s voice.

“Mabel, have you seen the news tonight? It’s all about Adina. She has a horrible temper. There were so many people, yet she slapped Ms. Xavier. That’s her cousin!” Aunt Mandy muttered. “She’s Mdm. Winters, but she just showed interest to be the heir of the Jones family. Isn’t she turning us into a joke for everyone to laugh at? People who don’t know might think you’ve mistreated her, Mabel…”

“Aunt Mandy, why are you here?” Adina walked into the house and asked with a fake smile. “I heard you mention my name. What are you talking about?”

Aunt Mandy’s expression froze.

Aunt Mandy widened her eyes in disbelief. She did not expect Adina to suddenly change her attitude.

She would not even have expected a junior to have the audacity to speak to her in that tone.

“Aunt Mandy, if you have so much free time, you should educate those disappointing children in your family. You better not comment on other people’s affairs. Am I right?” Adina smiled faintly, and her eyes were filled with disdain.

After she spoke, she held Duke’s arms with a coquettish smile and said, “Duke, let’s go upstairs and rest.”

The two of them walked upstairs side by side, and Duke did not say a word from beginning to end.
