“Mrs. Winters, happy birthday. I wish you many happy returns.”

Adina walked up to Mrs. Winters, smiled, and handed her the birthday gift.

A servant at the side accepted the gift and placed it on the table in the middle of the banquet hall. It did not take long for the table to be stacked with at least one hundred birthday gifts.

Mrs. Winters nodded. “Duke, why don’t you introduce us?”

Adina was worried that Duke would say that they were a couple. She was not planning on announcing their relationship yet.

So, she spoke first. “Mrs. Winters, I’m Adina Daugherty.”

Mrs. Winters frowned. “Adina Daugherty… Why does this name sound a little familiar?”

“Addy, why are you here?”

Dew walked over and acted surprised.

She had initially gone to sit down in the lounge, but when she saw Duke bring Adina over to send her birthday wishes, she felt extremely jealous.

Anyway, Mrs. Winters was there, so Duke would not dare to chase her out. Therefore, she came out and showed off her presence again.

She stood beside Mrs. Winters, blinked, and said, “Addy, don’t you need to look after your kids at home? Why do you have time to attend the banquet?”

Adina pretended as if she did not understand and asked, “Does what feel good?”

“Being discussed, criticized, and spurned!” Dew sneered and said, “You approached the Winters family and thought that you’d be able to marry into the family and become the mistress? I’ll tell you now. I’m the only one Mrs. Winters likes. She just wants me to be her daughter-in-law, so you can only be my stepping stone!”

Adina twirled her glass of red wine. “So, why are you wasting your time talking to a stepping stone?”

Dew tried to punch her but seemed to hit soft cotton. She was so angry that she nearly lost her cool.

But countless people in the hall looked over at them. She dared not lose her temper, so she was forced to suppress her rage.

Adina was interested in seeing Dew’s unhinged appearance. “Mrs. Winters chose you to be her daughter-in-law just because you gave the Winters family two young masters, right?” she said casually.

“Yes, and I have confidence as a result!” Dew raised her chin and arrogantly said, “I gave Duke two sons. No matter what, I’m the boys’ biological mother. No one can do anything to me!”

“Dew, I’m really envious of you.” Adina curled her lips in a teasing fashion. “It’s been a long time since we’ve chatted nicely. Do you have time for coffee after the party ends?”
