Chapter 117 Free
Derek didn't have a good impression of Christian and scoffed coldly, "They certainly make a fine pair. If it weren't for the fact that he saved Anastasia this time, I would've had it out with him ages ago!"
The way Christian had treated Anastasia, putting her through so much in the past three years, it was only natural that Derek was furious.
There was a slight shift in Anastasia's expression.
Her previous internal conflicts and struggles seemed all but laughable now.
In the presence of Beatrice, Anastasia was forever the one left out.
Now that Beatrice's biological child had been found, Christian would undoubtedly treat mother and child even better.
Suddenly, a sense of relief washed over Anastasia as if a heavy weight had been lifted from her shoulders.
After all, Christian had repaid what he owed her, and there were no longer any strings attached between them.
Derek was swamped with company matters, and the phone kept ringing one call after another.
He had to excuse himself to take a call, which left Jaxon in the room with Anastasia. Jaxon sat there and watched her with a vague expression.
Feeling somewhat uneasy under his gaze, Anastasia called out to him.
"Mr. Stanford..."
He said, "I found out a few things, but I'm unsure if I should tell you."
"What are they?" she questioned.
Jaxon hesitated momentarily, then took out his phone and displayed two pictures.
"These are the screen capture from the surveillance video I had saved. This server, she was the one who directed you to the private room, correct?"
Anastasia looked at the person in the photo and nodded, visibly shaken.
A sudden feeling of suffocation rushed up, making her heart tighten abruptly.
Anastasia's complexion paled a bit more, and she swiftly closed her eyes and took a deep breath, forcibly pushing down the discomfort.
As she had suspected, Anastasia was right.
She reflected, "Beatrice is such a good pretender. She hurt my child before and now wants to kill me!"
Anastasia slowly balled her fists, her body tensing in response.
She contemplated, "Wouldn't I be too meek if I don't retaliate?"
She had thought there was no rush to deal with Beatrice, but Beatrice had already acted immediately.
Anastasia knew she had to act and couldn't wait any longer.
Jaxon watched her, his lips pressed into a thin line, and his expression darkened.
"If you want to turn this evidence over to the police, I can help," he said.
"Oh, give it to the police? That would make things too easy for her, wouldn't it?" Anastasia retorted, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of her mouth while her eyes flickered with a chilly resolve.
