My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 317

For the first time, something dark flickered in his gaze. But he quickly masked it, sighing again. “Alright. Let’s not fight. I didn’t call you here to argue.”

“Then why did you call me?” she asked.

Damn! She was getting irritated.

He hesitated, tapping his fingers lightly on the table. “I heard about you. Your job. Your life. You’re doing well.”

She didn’t answer. She keep staring him.

“And,” he continued, “I thought… maybe it’s time we reconnect.”

Riyana stared at him, disbelief slowly turning into anger. “Reconnect? You think you can just send a message and everything is fine?”

how dare he?

He met her gaze calmly. “Blood doesn’t disappear, Ri.”

Her throat tightened. She looked away, focusing on the glass of water in front of her. Memories pressed in from all sides, unwanted and sharp. She took a deep breath, steadying herself. What a ridiculous excuse.

“I came because you asked,” she said quietly. “Now tell me what you really want.”

He smiled again, that same smile that never reached his eyes.

“I want my daughter to help her old dad.”

A cold wave ran through Riyana’s body.

So this was it.

No excuses. No pretending.

She slowly lifted her head and looked straight at him. “You lost your daughter a long time ago,” she said, her voice steady but hollow. “I’m not your daughter. And I won’t help you with anything.”

For a second, he stared at her. Then he laughed.

The sound was loud, sudden, and ugly. Riyana flinched before she could stop herself.

“I know you’ll help me,” he said calmly after the laughter faded. “I heard you work in a big company. You must earn well. I only need a few million. Help me once, and I’ll disappear from your life forever.”

There was something dark in his eyes now. No warmth. No shame. This is him. He never cared about her. Even after twenty years he was still same.

“I don’t work anymore,” Riyana replied, standing up. “And I don’t have money to give you.”

She picked up her bag. Her hands were shaking, but she forced herself to move. “Go back to where you came from. You’re not my father. Don’t contact me again.”

She turned to leave.
