My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 105

Marina laughed coldly.

“You think you’re clever, but look at you. Walking around malls alone, buying dresses for herself. Do you even have any dignity left? David never loved you. He never even admitted you as his wife publicly. You were just a shadow in his house.”

Lily’s chin rose proudly.

“Better a shadow with dignity than a mistress pretending to be a wife.”

Marina’s smile froze.

“What did you just say?”

“You heard me.” Lily stepped closer, her voice low but sharp like a knife. “You’ve been nothing but a mistress. A woman who couldn’t resist climbing into another woman’s husband’s bed. Tell me, Marina, how does it feel to win a man only through his weakness and lies?”

Marina’s assistant gasped softly, “Miss Laurent....”

But Marina’s glare silenced her.

“You dare insult me?” Marina snapped, voice shaking.

“Why not?” Lily shot back. “What are you? A future wife? Don’t make me laugh. You’re just the woman who had an affair with a married man”

Marina’s face went red.

Her fingers clenched around her clutch so tightly the veins on her hand showed.

“Shut up, Lily!” she spat. “David chose me! He loves me!”

Lily smirked, tilting her head.

“Then why hide me for five years, Marina? Why did he never once dare to announce me as his wife? Because deep down, he knows what you are. And no matter how many rings he puts on your finger, or how many gowns you buy with his card, you’ll always just be the woman who stole him from his marriage.”

Marina’s lips trembled.

“You....You think you’re better than me?”

“I don’t need to think,” Lily said calmly, her voice firm. “I know I am. Because I never lowered myself to crawling into another woman’s marriage. I don’t need David Hardison to prove my worth. Can you say the same?”

The words hit Marina like slaps.

She took a step forward, her voice almost breaking.

“You’re nothing without him, Lily. Nothing! He gave you everything you have.”

Lily let out a dry laugh.

“Everything? Please. What exactly did he give me, Marina? Silence? Loneliness? Nights spent waiting for a husband who never came home? No, thank you. You can keep all that as a gift.”

She leaned in closer, her whisper like venom.

“And one more thing, when a man cheats with you once, he’ll cheat on you again. Good luck living with that fear every day, Marina.”

Marina’s face went pale.
