My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 103

“David, you’re drunk,” Marina said softly, moving closer, her voice laced with fake concern. She reached for him, holding his arm.

He pushed her away weakly. “Go home. We’ll…...

talk tomorrow.” His words slurred slightly. He stood, but his knees buckled.

“David!” Marina caught him quickly, slipping under his arm. “Let me help you to bed.”

His mind was foggy, his lips dry. He wanted to argue, to push her away, but the strength wasn’t there. His thoughts scattered like smoke. He let her guide him upstairs, his steps uneven.

When they reached the bedroom, he collapsed onto the bed. His head pounded. He tried to fight the heaviness in his eyes, but it was impossible.

Marina sat beside him, her chest heaving with both triumph and desperation. She reached for her gown straps, slowly slipping them down her shoulders. Piece by piece, she removed it, then climbed onto the bed beside him.

Her hand caressed his cheek. “David…...” she whispered.

His eyelids fluttered. He blinked, struggling to focus. The room spun. For a second, her face came into focus.

“Lily….." he mumbled weakly, before his eyes slid shut completely.

Marina froze. Her heart cracked in half.

How could he?

Marina couldn't believe it that David was calling Lily in his sleep.

“David....” she hissed, patting his cheek hard.

“David, open your eyes and see. Who is here” But he didn’t. His breathing steadied, his chest rising and falling with the rhythm of sleep.

Fury twisted her features. He had chosen Lily even in his half-conscious state. She wanted to scream, to hit him, but instead she clenched her jaw so tightly her teeth hurt.

Fine. If he wouldn’t give her his heart, she would still take everything else.

Marina pulled the blanket over them both. With cold determination, she stripped him completely, then slipped beside him, her body pressed close. Her hand rested on his chest as she whispered through clenched teeth.

“You’re mine, David. Only mine"

Next Morning

The first rays of light filtered through the curtains. David’s head throbbed, every beat of his pulse like a hammer. He groaned, rubbing his temples as he slowly sat up.
