“There’s nothing left that I’m hiding from you, Darling.” Cale shifted slightly closer before gently taking Lydia’s hand into his own, holding it firmly. “I’m sorry for making you angry and upset. I know you still don’t fully trust me, but everything I said is the truth, and I never intended to keep it from you forever.”

Lydia clicked her tongue irritably. “Then why didn’t you tell me from the beginning?”

“Because to me, it wasn’t important,” Cale replied lightly. “But since yesterday, Nao has looked sad, shocked, and emotionally shaken. I didn’t want her hesitating to move forward while facing so many threats and dangers. Because this is the truth of what happened.”

“How could I not be shaken?” Naomi protested with a displeased pout. “I’m still trying to process the massive changes happening in my life, and now I also have to deal with terrifying threats.”

But then she slowly moved closer to Lydia, leaning against her cautiously, hoping the woman was no longer upset with her.
