Chapter 755
After the formal introduction and ceremony honoring Naomi, the atmosphere inside the hall gradually settled into something calmer and warmer. Cale allowed the girl to mingle with the longtime members of the Chen family. He wanted Naomi to know them personally and judge for herself which among them genuinely approached her with no purpose other than acknowledging her as the last descendant of the Chen family.
At first, Naomi had clearly been reluctant, but Lydia eventually managed to persuade her. Somehow, the two women had grown noticeably closer lately, enough to make things slightly troublesome for Cale. Even so, Naomi had finally agreed and slowly started getting used to standing among this gathering.
From a distance, Cale stood quietly while watching several faction leaders take turns approaching Naomi. Most of the older men who had looked so intimidating earlier were now speaking far more casually.
Every now and then, soft laughter drifted from the small group surrounding Naomi.
And to Cale, the sight felt strangely unfamiliar.
Naomi rarely laughed. More often than not, she threw sharp looks at him and answered him curtly. Still, at the very least, she wasn’t showing that side of herself in public.
That alone was a good thing, considering the Chen family had spent far too many years drowning in tension, betrayal, and endless power struggles.
To the point that seeing Naomi standing among them now, trying to suppress her nervousness while everyone welcomed her, almost felt like something impossible.
“Master Kai.”
One of Hong Kong’s local business leaders approached with a glass in hand.
“I heard TnC has started taking over the northern shipping route.”
Cale finally shifted his gaze away from Naomi. “Negotiations are still ongoing.”
The man smiled faintly. “When you’re the one handling it, that usually means it’s already finished.”
Several people around them chuckled quietly in agreement.
The conversation gradually shifted toward business matters, port distribution, casino routes, and the growing influence of several new alliances in Macau. On the surface, everything sounded perfectly normal.
But the world they stood in tonight had never truly been clean.
Kai held control over far too many interconnected things. By day, he operated businesses exactly as expected of one of TnC Group’s heirs. By night, he kept another machine running, one often built upon intimidation and violence.
But Cale had long since grown used to living in a world like this.
He answered only what was necessary whenever questions about business were directed at him, because his attention remained divided. He never truly stopped watching Naomi.
His gaze kept drifting back toward her.
Naomi still looked awkward receiving so much attention from everyone, but at least she no longer appeared terrified the way she had before.

Then Cale’s gaze shifted toward the other side of the hall.
Lydia appeared to be chatting comfortably with several female guests, occasionally letting out soft laughter. The elegant black dress she wore made her seem perfectly at home within the luxurious atmosphere of the hall tonight.
And as always, his wife adapted far better than he had expected.
For some reason, simply seeing Lydia smiling calmly in the middle of his dark world eased some of the tension
inside him.
But the calm didn’t last long.
Liu suddenly appeared from the side of the hall, walking quickly despite still maintaining his composure. His expression looked far more serious than it had only minutes ago.
“Sir.”
Cale immediately caught the shift in his assistant’s tone.
“What is it?”
Liu stepped closer before speaking quietly. “There’s a message from Brandon.”
Cale’s gaze hardened instantly. “What did he say?”
Liu briefly scanned their surroundings before lowering his voice even further. “Falcon bribed someone inside the security circle.”
Around them, the music still flowed softly and conversations continued throughout the hall. But the moment Liu delivered those words, everything around Cale seemed to go silent.
His focus narrowed completely onto the information he had just received.
Liu continued, “There’s a possibility someone has already been inside the restaurant area this entire time.”
Cale’s jaw tightened immediately.
His eyes swept rapidly across the hall.
Naomi.
Where was Naomi?
“Increase security.” Cale’s voice dropped low and sharp. “Don’t Jet Naomi be alone.”
Liu nodded at once. “I already sent Daniel to move.”
But before Cale could even take a step-
Click.
The entire hall was suddenly swallowed by darkness.
Every light went out simultaneously.
The music vanished at once, replaced by startled cries and rising panic. Within seconds, chaos erupted throughout the room.

“What happened?”
“What is this? Why are the lights out?”
“Increase security!”
“Where’s the staff responsible for this?”
The harsh scraping of chairs echoed throughout the massive hall. Several female guests looked startled, while the guards immediately moved into position with swift precision. Some of them turned on the flashlights from their phones to restore visibility in the darkness.
