My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 752

Looking at the caller ID on the screen, Quennel pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.

—Hannah.

He had just left, and she was already calling him. No matter how he thought about it, the timing felt strange.

Could it be that there was something she couldn't say in front of Cherry and was calling to tell him now?

After a moment of hesitation, Quennel answered the call.

“Hannah.”

“Brother, I know Cherry was a bit rash just now, but she was just scared by your family’s elders. I hope you won’t hold it against her when you get back.”

Hannah joined Cherry on the second-floor balcony. Watching Quennel's car drive away, she suppressed a laugh and continued into the phone.

“The Temple family is taking this very seriously. If anything happens to Cherry or her parents, everyone will immediately assume you were behind it. I’d hate for you to be blamed for something someone else does.”

Hannah had no intention of publicizing Quennel's visit today.

After all, he had taken good care of her over the past three years, and she couldn't bring herself to be completely ruthless. This was the least she could do.

Quennel fell silent, thinking. He had been so lost in his anger that he hadn't considered the situation clearly.

But now that Hannah had pointed it out, he suddenly understood.

If Cherry really did publicize his visit, and Lionel found out, he would probably use it as an excuse to retaliate against Cherry and then pin the blame on him!

If that happened, he would have to waste time proving his innocence.

He had noticed rivals circling lately, practically drooling at the prospect of the Rosenberg and Temple families going to war so they could swoop in and pick up the pieces.

Some had even begun extending olive branches to Lionel after hearing he might be kicked out of the family.

Of course, Lionel himself was still in the dark. Quennel had intercepted all of it and reported it to the elders.

The elders were now scrambling to deal with both the person who leaked the information to Cherry and these opportunistic rivals.

These people were fearless. To make moves on Lionel before he was even officially out—it was a blatant show of disrespect to the Rosenberg family!

“Don’t worry, brother. I’ll keep trying to persuade her. Just a moment ago, she was about to post the security footage from your visit. I talked her down, but she’s still on the fence. I’ll go talk to her some more now.”

“Okay. Thank you.”
