Facing the furious, red-faced Mr. Michael Rosenberg, Hannah showed not a single trace of fear.
Instead, she burst out laughing. Spreading her hands in a helpless shrug, she raised an eyebrow and said with a light chuckle, “Lionel is your dog, not me! So don’t try to pull that ‘elder’ nonsense on me!”
“You!”
“If you’re really so powerful, then call Lionel right now and tell him to divorce me. After all, you’re his elders. You’re the law in the Rosenberg family. Your word is command!”
“Lionel is the Rosenberg family’s dog; he has to obey your every command. So go on, show me what you’ve got. Get Lionel over here to divorce me right now.”
She had despised them from the moment she married Lionel. Fortunately, she hadn't had to see them at all for the past three years. Otherwise, with their arrogance, she wouldn't have been able to tolerate them for a second.
The two elders sitting beside him knew Hannah wasn’t the same gentle, obedient girl she used to be, but they never expected her to become this brazen and defiant.
“Hannah, we came here today mainly to ask you some questions. Please, show some respect,” Mr. Edward Rosenberg said, struggling to keep his patience.
Mr. Hector also frowned. “Don’t be so confrontational.”
“I’m confrontational? I have a bad attitude? Why don’t you take a look at yourselves? Is your attitude any better? You’re just here to ask about what Cherry posted online.”
The moment she saw them, she knew exactly why they had come.
But she hadn’t expected Mr. Michael Rosenberg to start with his usual snobbery before they even got to the point.
