“Lionel, has it been so long since we last fought that you think we’re back on good terms?”
Hannah scoffed. “Don't forget, we're getting a divorce. The court is scheduling our case, and it’ll be our turn soon. We’ll be seeing each other in court in a few days.”
“Do you think I'm so kind-hearted that I have nothing better to do than be a witness for you? This is your family’s problem, so you can deal with it yourselves. Stop dragging me into everything. Besides, Cherry was the one who posted it.”
“The person who told her was probably also close to her. You should be asking Cherry, not me. And don't use other people's phones to call me again. It only makes me despise you more!”
Hannah rolled her eyes as she hung up and promptly blocked the number.
She couldn't believe Lionel was desperate enough to come to her for help. She had no idea what was going through his head.
The best possible outcome for her was for him and Quennel to tear each other apart. Why would she ever help him?
It was wishful thinking.
Then again, his thinking made a certain kind of sense. Even now, he probably still believed she was in love with him, that she couldn't live without him.
With that mindset, it was no wonder he kept making one wrong move after another.
However, Lionel’s call was proof that things were not going well for them, and that he already suspected Quennel.
