As Mr. Michael Rosenberg spoke through gritted teeth, his gaze was fixed on Lionel.
It was as if he had already decided that Lionel was the one who had leaked the information.
However, facing Mr. Michael Rosenberg’s pointed stare, Lionel remained utterly unconcerned. He leaned back casually against the chair, crossed his long legs, and folded his arms, looking at him with a dismissive air.
Seeing his relaxed demeanor, Mr. Michael Rosenberg grew furious, feeling that Lionel was deliberately provoking him.
In a fit of rage, he clenched his fist and slammed it on the table, snarling angrily.
“I’ll say it one last time. Whoever did this should confess now, and I can still spare them. But if you refuse to admit it and I find out later, the consequences will be far more severe than just being disowned.”
At this, Lionel’s interest was piqued. He sat up straight, his eyes fixed on the elder. “If you find out,” he asked, “what else will you do besides disowning them?”
“This is a civilized society now. Secretly arranging to have someone killed probably isn't the best look. Even though the Rosenberg family has money and power in Sova, the police wouldn’t just stand by if a life was on the line.”
“What I do next is none of your business! Just admit it, was this you or not?”
Hearing Lionel’s brazen tone, Mr. Michael Rosenberg’s anger flared even hotter.
“In the entire Rosenberg family, you’re the only one who would do something like this! I was truly wrong about you. You were so arrogant yesterday, and you dare to be this defiant in front of me today? Do you really think the Rosenberg family can’t function without you?”
