My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 255

A smug, triumphant smile spread across Sandra’s face as she reassured herself. Tomorrow, she would do exactly as Lionel said. She would go and apologize to Hannah.

Of course, whether or not Hannah could handle her apology was another matter entirely.

The next day, Sandra was discharged from the hospital. Instead of going home, she took a taxi to the Keystone Group building, arriving at noon, just as the sun was at its peak. She didn’t have an umbrella or a hat, and she wheeled herself to the front entrance under the blazing sun, a picture of fragile determination.

Just then, Hannah and her colleagues were coming downstairs for lunch.

Hannah saw Sandra wheeling toward her and immediately tensed. Remembering the photographer, she scanned the area, checking the bushes and corners for anyone hiding with a camera. But she saw no one suspicious. Had Lionel’s visit yesterday put a stop to her games?

Unsure of Sandra’s motives but certain it was a trap, Hannah remained on high alert.

“Hannah, we meet again,” Sandra said as she approached. Her face was pale, almost translucent in the harsh sunlight, and her dry, chapped lips pulled into a weak smile. “I came here today to apologize to you. I hope you can be the bigger person and not hold a grudge.”

Her words were dripping with condescension, and not just Hannah, but all her colleagues, exchanged looks of disbelief.
