Chapter 155 Eight He-Wolves at Once
Third-person POV:
“Yes, Ms. Conlay.”
Pearl carried out the order.
By evening, the person she sent returned with news. Everything at Frostwind Pack was normal. The servants were preparing for the alpha’s mating ceremony. They were even getting ready to welcome Morgana to stay long-term.
After hearing this, Laila didn’t ask more questions. As long as Samuel was safe, that was enough. Maybe he was busy with military duties.
Deep in her mind, Nita snorted in annoyance. A low growl rumbling in her throat. Damn it! Why couldn’t he at least say where he was going? Is he planning to disappear? What kind of mate acts like this?
Laila ignored her.
Instead, she opened a drawer and took out a small package of honey candy.
She had found it a year ago while sorting through Raymond’s belongings.
The candy had already melted and stuck to the wax paper. But she couldn’t bring herself to throw it away, so she kept it.
She tightened her grip on the crumpled paper. The folds were almost worn through.
If the Conlay bloodline ended, then the future of the dukedom-and Silvermoon Pack- would be uncertain.
At Frostfang Pack, Estelle finally made her move
She called for her most trusted maid. Then she landed her the 50,000 dollars she had taken from Morgana.
Her face was cold as she gave her orders.
“Go find people.
“The kind from the bottom of society-taverns, brothels, gambling dens. The kind who take money, do the job, and disappear without asking questions.

“Then why?”
“What else would it be? Because there are lots of strong, powerful he-wolves on the battlefield! She enjoyed it!”
“Do you think Maris found out and that’s why she was framed?”
“Hard to say. Maris had a pretty good reputation before she became Holt’s Luna…”
“Does Prince Vance know about this? I hope he hasn’t been fooled by that bitch!”
In less than a week, the rumors had spread across many packs.
Some people even went to ask Holt.
Holt cursed them on the spot, saying they were preading lies. He even used his wolf claws to beat one of them badly.
But that didn’t stop the rumors.
“Of course Alpha Holt won’t admit it. How could he admit being betrayed by his fated mate?”
“When judging something, don’t look at what he says. Look at what he does. The fact is, after breaking the mate bond with Laila, he chose Maris as his mate.”
“Maris is only a beta. Her family background is far worse than Laila’s. If Laila’s private life wasn’t a mess, why would he leave her and marry a she-wolf who’s not even as good as her?”
The rumors eventually reached Maris.
She only gave a cold smile. Then she said one sentence.
