Aniya was sauntering down the grand corridor; her gown was rustling softly against the polished floor.
Her mind was still trying to absorb whatever was happening to her. She wasn’t ready for this marriage and if Valerie and Alaric were getting success in selling her off to a rich man. Then she would wait patiently and run away after the vows or after spending the night with him.
If her adoptive parents thought, she was a weakling then they were wrong.
Halfway there, she felt a presence beside her.
"You look beautiful," Came a male voice.
Dorian Maxwell.
Was he following me?
Her groom was walking beside her casually. His gaze slid over her gown and lingered on the curves of her body which was enough to make her skin crawl.
The jerk is checking me out.
She said nothing, her lips pressed into a thin line as she didn’t acknowledge his presence.
"You are beautiful," his tone was laced with mocked admiration, "Your parents must have told you that my wife should be obedient to me," he whispered, "I don’t like bold girls. Your parents assured me that you’re a package."
Aniya’s hands balled into fists. What was he taking her for?
A slave?
He didn’t pay her shit. He sealed the business deal with Valerie and Alaric, and they were the ones who would be responsible if she tried to vanish.
She wasn’t answerable to him.
As they reached the bridal room, her eyes flickered for the briefest second before she faced forward again, "Excuse me."
She needed to crush him if she wanted to go to that room as he stood in the way. Three to four bodyguards were also standing outside the room.
"Mr. Maxwell. We have checked the room. No windows to escape."
"Shut up!" Dorian roared, which made her jump in fright. He turned to her with a sarcastic grin, "So, you can speak, Assina! Huh?"
Assina?
What the fu*ck is this Assina?
"And here I thought you were saving words for the vows, you don’t even believe in," he took a big silk cloth from a guard and tossed it towards her, "This is your veil. It’s not a see-through one. So don’t worry. No one will notice the torment in your eyes or the anguish written on your face.
Her heart pounded. So, he brought this kind of veil for her that won’t let anyone see her face?
"Why are you here, Dorian?" she asked her.
He leaned closer, his weird cologne overpowering her senses, "To catch a glimpse of my bride," he stated matter-of-factly, "I didn’t know you were so beautiful. That’s why I came to the restaurant and fell for you. Your mom welcomed me with open arms and told me I can marry you once you’re an adult and Oh, God. Look at you!" he gestured towards her, "I’m lucky... lucky to get the chance to lick you everywhere. Hahaha." freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
Aniya stopped herself from gagging.
Licked by him? Yuck!
"Ok, fine," she forced a smile on her face, "Lick me after the wedding. But please don’t let Alaric walk me down the aisle. I can manage alone."
Enjoy Valerie and Alaric!
"What!"
They both shouted.
Maxwell nodded, "Just attend the wedding like good kids and leave. Never let your paths cross with my wife."
Valerie thought he had given the verdict to hang them till death.
She worked so hard with this deal and now she didn’t want to lose money, "Mr. Maxwell. Please Don’t do that," she begged, "I tried stopping him but he..."
Maxwell realized that the woman was a liar.
"One more thing, Mr. Dorian," Valerie wanted to put some sense in this man, "Her friend Lisa. Please don’t invite her. She is bad news."
"I have got guards," he shrugged, "Aniya isn’t going anywhere. Now go and sit otherwise I can snatch the money from you people."
The threat worked. They both had disappointed looks on their faces as they walked away from there.
"I told you not to mess things up," Valerie wiped the tears from her face, "And see what you did? Your impatience brought us here."
Right now, she wanted to strangle Alaric’s neck.
When Valerie saw Lisa coming inside the church with a guy who must be her boyfriend, Valerie made a face.
Mr. Maxwell. Now don’t tell me that I didn’t warn you. This girl’s presence is not a good sign. Well! Why I’m so worried?
Maxwell isn’t paying me the money anymore.
