"Hello! Anybody home?" Valerie called from the doorway when she entered the house. There was a strange kind of silence there.
"Aniya! Are you back?" She called again, "Alaric!"
Shouldn’t Aniya be home by now? She thought in irritation and went to the kitchen.
Oh, so she returned and must be sleeping in her room now. Thank God the kitchen is clean.
But where is Alaric?
She went to her bedroom, thinking that Alaric must have passed out after getting drunk but there he was sitting in the bed sucking something in his mouth.
"Alaric! Why didn’t you respond to me, honey?" she went to him and leaned down to kiss him, but he turned away his face to avoid the kiss.
Valerie stood there in confusion, "What’s the matter?" she ran a slow gaze around and found an ice tray on the nightstand.
Alaric picked up another cube and popped it into his mouth. Valerie caught the sight of his injured tongue, "My, my! What happened to your tongue?"

The creepy man had dropped her at Lisa’s apartment on her request, but the weird thing was, that Lisa wasn’t home.
"I’m not going back to my house. No way!" She mumbled and sat on the staircase near the apartment door.
Her mind wandered back to that man who didn’t tell her, his name, nor did she ask him.
He knew a lot about her and was standing outside her house as if he knew she might be in trouble.
But it was all unsettling a bit. She wasn’t getting those friendly vibes from him, though she decided to trust him.
With a sigh, she tilted her head to look at the apartment door and then leaned her cheek against the wall.
"Where’re you, Lisa," she spoke to herself.
She had dozed off when the jangling nearby made her awake. Lisa was climbing the stairs with that cute guy tugging behind her.
"Aniya!" Lisa was stunned to find her on the stairs. The cute guy also had concern in his eyes. If it was some other time, she would have teased Lisa about him.
"I’m sorry for appearing like this but will you mind if I crash at your place for a few days? I’ve left my house for good, Lisa."

"That asshole tried to..." Lisa gritted her teeth while dabbing at the small bumps on her back. There were angry red marks where she hit the edge of the stairs. Bruises had almost marred her skin. She winced every time Lisa’s fingers brushed against the tender spots.
"Stop poking it so hard, Lisa," Aniya grumbled, "It hurts... ouch!"
Lisa huffed rolling her eyes, "Why? I told you not to be a superhero and stop going to that house."
Aniya was lying face down, on her belly with her shirt pulled up to her head. Lisa had winced when she saw her back.
Aniya let out a weak laugh, muffled by the pillow, she had her face buried in, "I never thought it could be this bad."
Uh-huh. So, Lisa is at last involved.
Being Lisa’s friend didn’t mean; she needed to pry in her personal affairs. frёeωebɳovel.com
When Liam left, Lisa lay beside her.
"I’m sorry," Aniya placed her cheek on her wrist, "I think it was the wrong timing to crash here and ..."
"Aniya..." Lisa sat up, "Stop apologizing. Nothing is going on between us. I’m bringing a glass of milk for you. Don’t sleep before drinking it."
Lisa was turning away to leave the bed when something glittering caught her eye, "What is this?" she asked Aniya whose eyes were closed now.
"What?" Aniya asked her in a hoarse whisper.
"On your finger, dummy. When did you buy this ring?"
Ring?
With a groan, Aniya raised her head to have a better look at her hand. Lisa was right. There was a ring on her finger.
A diamond ring.
"Wait a minute," she bolted up, "how did this ring get to my finger?"
And then she realized that there was only one man who held her hand once when she was puking.
Like seriously? He slipped this ring on my finger when I was throwing up?
Gross!
