Gabriel didn’t take the time to get on his feet and pulled Nina behind the tree. The old gardener was narrowing his eyes to check if someone was there, or if he was imagining it.
Gabriel and Nina held their breaths as they waited for him to leave.
"Who is there?" The elderly gardener announced in the darkness in a weak voice and only got the sound of the breeze, "I’m getting too old to hear anything."
He muttered while walking away leaving the two lovers in fits.
"For a minute, I thought it was Shane," Nina told him, leaning her forehead on his chest. He regarded her head with a warm smile, "Stop fearing him. Now you’re with me."
His deep voice was dangerously low near her ear and then Nina realized how close they both were standing.
She tried to pull back, but Gabriel didn’t let her, "Stop!" his command took her by surprise, "Now we’re engaged."
He was looking into her eyes now and Nina couldn’t move her gaze away. He was so handsome and so beautiful, and he was now her fiancé.
"We... I..." she swiped her tongue over her lips, "it’s not good to stay here. We..."
"We... what?" he asked her, moving his face closer to hers.
"We... we can get caught!" for some obvious reason, Nina was getting breathless and she wanted to clench her thighs together.
"So, what!" he hissed. But the rage wasn’t for her. It was for the feelings that could be evoked in him due to her nearness.
Nina’s chest was rising and falling, and she could feel the heat running through her veins.
Without warning, Gabriel’s hand entered her partially opened robe to feel her boon. Nina’s eyes rolled back as a moan escaped her lips, "Gabriel!"
"My love!" he had pulled her into him to let her feel his hardness.
"What are you doing?" Gabriel couldn’t answer her as his lips had already landed on her lips, tasting every part of her face.
His hand was expertly taking off the robe where she was wearing a silk camisole underneath, without any bra or panties.
For the next few minutes, there was panting of their breaths, moaning and groaning against the same Neem tree.
That night when Nina was going back to her bedroom, she had a big smile on her face. She couldn’t decide if she should fix her disheveled hair or her robe that was torn in several spots.
Once she lay on the bed, she turned her head to look at the sleeping man beside her. She felt weird.
Shane always used to snore lightly but tonight he wasn’t.
Is he awake?
Nina’s heart missed a beat.
Although their divorce was supposed to be finalized the next day, she was horrified that he must have witnessed what she and Gabriel did in the garden.
She kept lying there holding her breath and then she tried to console herself that she was just freaking out.
Nina squeezed her lips in frustration.
I swear, one day I’ll kill this bustard.
Another servant told her that Gabriel was here to receive her, but he wasn’t allowed to come inside.
This time Nina was ready for such cheap stunts. With great struggle, she managed to take down her suitcases one by one. It took her at least thirty minutes to bring them down the stairs.
"What took you so long, honey!" Gabriel got out of the car when saw her coming outside the gates.
"Wait for me. I need to bring the rest of them," she excused before running back inside. Shaking his head, Gabriel started loading her cases into the trunk of the car.
When she took the passenger seat, she was breathless, and the sweat was streaming down her face.
"Look at you. Let’s get you home so that you can freshen up," he started the engine. When the car started moving, Nina felt the document with her hand patting on the bag.
She wanted to ask Gabriel to first take her to the council office, but she was so tired that she thought she should go later.
After all, this was just a paper.
She just needed to get done with her signature and submit it.
Easy peasy!
