Chapter 333: 333- Ghosts Of The Past

"Nina! Wake up!" Nina scrunched her nose when someone woke her up from deep sleep, "You need to leave."-

Bajj told her in a no-nonsense tone.

Nina felt heaviness in her head and couldn’t open her eyes, "Just a little longer," she mumbled sleepily.

Bajj stood there, observing the woman, with his arms folded on his chest. Last night, they danced, partied, and then got naughty but that didn’t mean he was adopting her.

"It’s almost dawn, Nina. You need to leave. People have places to be and you... well!" he shrugged, "You must have a home to return to."

Nina finally cracked open an eye, her head still fuzzy from last night’s booze effects, "Home?" she chuckled but her voice lacked humor, "Can’t I just stay here?" Bajj could hear that stubborn slur in her voice.

He raised a brow, his expression turning sharp, "Now act up your age, Nina. You think people like walking up to an old woman snoring on their couch? It’s time to go, Nina," he said firmly and went to switch off his charger.

Nina stretched, letting out a reluctant sigh.

Strange! She never got a man who would let her stay in his bed. Not even in his apartment.

Rafael’s father was one of them.

"Fine!" it was only one word, but it was loaded with sarcasm as she slipped her feet into her shoes, "Wouldn’t want to interrupt your oh-so-important morning plans," she clicked her tongue in her mouth.

No matter how many times it happened, she felt humiliated.

Bajj was watching her while gathering her things. She rolled her hair roughly and placed a catcher clip on it.

"Aren’t you a fashion designer?" the question was out of his mouth before he could stop it.

"Yes, I am," she raised her shoulder and started checking her phone.

There were now several messages from Valerie.

"What? Scared?"

"Don’t want to face me?"

"How do you blame your evil deeds on others when you’re the culprit, Nina."

Valerie was getting out of hand, and Nina needed to teach her a lesson.

"Now what?" she jerked back into reality when heard Bajj’s annoying voice. By now, his patience was running thin.

"Uh.. My daughter-in-law..."

"Huh?"

"I mean... my ex daughter-in-law... Valerie... she has gone crazy. My ex-assistant Geena and Valerie... they are teaming up against me. Using Marissa, my son’s widow as their pawn. The worst part?" she laughed, "She believes them. I know I made mistakes but..." she looked at his face, "I accepted those mistakes and I’m now sincere with Marissa."

"Marissa Sinclair?" he asked with a raised brow and Nina tried to smile.

"Yeah. The success has gotten to her head. Listen, Bajj," she went to him and placed her hand on his arm which he didn’t like but chose to stay quiet about it, "I need a place to live."

Bajj looked down at her face with narrowed eyes, "Asking random people to let you stay at their place? Why don’t you go back to Sangua?"

"I can’t!" she walked away to look outside the window, "My grandkids are here and after my son’s death," she tried to gulp down the lump forming in her throat, "After Rafael’s death they are my life."

"No. I just want to be alone for a little while."

"So that you can talk to a secret boyfriend?" he asked laughingly, and Nina bent her head closing her eyes.

"No," she said in a small voice, "Because I need privacy to cry."

No matter how insensitive he was, he was caught off guard. The woman seemed a lot strong but now there was some mystery attached to her.

"Listen!" he held her by her shoulders and made her sit on a chair, "Why don’t you throw away everything that is messing with your health?" he asked her, holding her head with one hand.

"Wh-what?"

"It’s called ghosts of the past!" he tapped his index finger on her head, "Let that ghost out. And you’ll be free from all the stress and tension."

Nina inhaled a long breath and looked into his eyes, "How to do that?"

He gazed into her eyes and then gently covered them with his palm, "Take some deep breaths."

Nina followed his direction.

"Now go to your past and hold the collar of the person who is the ghost of your life. Hold him... or her... by his collar and throw him away."

Nina stayed there, sitting quietly, maybe trying to do what he told her to.

"Once you do it," he said in a low whisper, "Speak this person’s name loudly, and then you are done!" he said snapping his fingers.

Before Nina could stop herself, her mouth opened and one word came out of her mouth, "The blue-eyed Giana!"
