Mr. President You Are The Daddy Of My Triplets novel Chapter 307

Chapter 307: 307- Nina Met Rafael

"What!" Marissa was on her feet to hug her friend. Sophie nearly bounced on her toes.

"Yeah. Look at this Diamond ring. Isn’t it gorgeous?" She rushed over, meeting Marissa halfway, and hugged her tightly.

"Oh, Soph. I’m so happy for you."

Looking at these two, Dean had also gotten up, "Congratulations, Sophia."

Sophia accepted the greeting with a nod, "I want to steal your president for an hour," she grabbed Marissa’s hand and started pulling her outside, "Come on. Joseph is supposed to attend a meeting, so we have enough time to celebrate. Come on, girl."

Marissa wanted to feel happiness wholeheartedly. The irony was, that when she had Rafael, Sophie was single. And today when she got engaged, Marissa was single.

Cruel fate!

Sophie tugged her towards the door, "Come on. And spare your poor assistant. He needs to be with Akari!"

Marissa giggled, listening to that, "They look cute together."

"Yeah. Very much," Sophie rolled her eyes, "but I still stand on my point that he is into you."

"Oh, please no. He is a very good friend of mine!" Marissa was getting tired of Sophie and Nina pairing her with anyone who owned pe*nis.

"Come on, we need to celebrate. Let’s have a beer!"

Marissa tried to free her hand from her friend’s hold, "Drinking during office hours? You must be out of your mind."

Sophie pouted for a moment but quickly gave Marissa an over-brightened smile, "Okay. Then how about coffee?"

They started walking to Kate’s café when Sophie paused to check her phone, "Who this might be!" she kept walking muttering to herself, checking her phone, "Oh, huh."

"What happened?"

"Umm. Nothing... it’s Joseph..." A sheepish smile was tugging at the corner of her lips, "his meeting got canceled. He is asking me to go back to the office."

Marissa smirked, shaking her head. For a minute she wondered how Rafael had tackled the situation.

No matter how many times he did it with Marissa on the office floor. He would never have allowed the couple to have their naughty time in the office.

Marissa watched Sophie go, amused by her friend’s whirlwind excitement.

Instead of going back to her office, she decided to visit the café. After all, a cup of a good latte won’t hurt.

Marissa was leaning against the counter of Kate’s café, trying to decide the menu. She was idly flipping through the menu options when her phone buzzed.

She glanced at the screen and saw a message from Geena, "Come out, please."

With a slight frown, she saw Kate busy, explaining something to her worker. She pushed herself off the counter and headed to the door. As soon as she stepped outside, she spotted Geena.

Marissa crossed her arms. For the last year? Was it about Rafael?

"N...no..." Geena declined the offer with a small smile, "I can’t be seen with you, Marissa. People know that we aren’t strangers to each other. But right now, I need to let it off my chest before it’s too late."

Marissa’s frown deepened as curiosity made its way to her heart. What is this all about?

"Alright," she nodded, "Speak freely, then."

Marissa felt Geena shudder, but she didn’t hold her, "Marissa... the night of the event. I saw Nina talking to Rafael. This must have happened a few hours before he died."

Marissa felt herself turning into a block of ice, "Wh... what are you trying to say?"

Geena struggled to speak again but this time Marissa grabbed her arm, "What were they talking about?"

"Th-they were fighting," Geena said, her eyes downcast, "they were fighting as if they weren’t mom and son but siblings. Rafael’s voice... was louder than hers. I couldn’t make out everything, but I had to walk home... I got scared and went back..."

"Then?" Marissa asked her impatiently, "What happened after that.?"

"Nothing happened. I just wanted to tell you this but couldn’t find enough courage. After a few days, we received his death news on the TV channels. I told Ethan everything and he encouraged me to approach you and talk. I’m sorry... but Marissa... Nina... she can’t be trusted."

Marissa felt that the floor had slipped under her feet. Nina never told her that. Why did she hide it from Marissa?

"Mar...Marissa... please don’t let her know that I told you that," ƒreewebɳovel.com

Her face hardened. Nina should answer her questions. Marissa needed to ask her without mentioning Geena.

Rafael once told her to keep her friends close but her enemies closer. Was Nina really a friend or a foe?
