Mr. President You Are The Daddy Of My Triplets novel Chapter 280

Chapter 280: 280- You Did It, My Friend!

"Their story just got started. Then what went wrong, Joseph?" Sophie must have asked Joseph this question maybe for the umpteenth time.

A question that Joseph didn’t know how to answer.

It had been three days since Marissa had a nervous breakdown. She hadn’t gotten back her consciousness.

Sophie, who always preferred to stay with the kids, was now staying in the hospital corridors. Thankfully Nina knew how to keep the kids’ focus on their granny. This is what she knew best. To keep everyone busy around her.

Though kids called Sophie repeatedly to ask about their mom, Emily, and Nina were taking great care of them.

Sitting on the cold floor of the hospital corridor, Sophie’s face was leaning against Joseph’s shoulder.

The poor man was by her side all this time. He even begged her to sit on a bench, yet Sophie preferred the floor.

This was what she had been doing since childhood whenever she was too scared of the ghosts. Marissa wasn’t her childhood buddy, but they still got along pretty well.

Now that same bubbly, chirpy, full of life girl was on the hospital bed.

"Love is scary. Who said it was sweet? It’s scary, Joseph," Joseph was also heartbroken. Rafael had been his childhood buddy and always helped him in such secret ways that Joseph came to know later about them.

Most of the time that help was a financial one. And now Joseph seemed lost without him. The good thing that was common between them was, they didn’t have any siblings. However, they became each other’s siblings.

"I wish they could find his body," Joseph said brokenly, "at least Marissa might learn to live alone once she sees his dead body."

"They are saying the currents were too strong that day. His body is resting at the bottom of the deep water. And I don’t think his dead body can give her anything now except for a lifetime of trauma. No, it won’t. Seeing the dead body of your loved one doesn’t let you live peacefully."

Nodding his head, Joseph leaned the side of his face against her head.

"I think you should go home, Fia. If those kids know anyone after their parents, it’s you and Flint."

"Don’t worry. Flint has joined Nina and Emily. I want to stay here, Joseph," She grumbled like a stubborn child.

How could she leave her friend all alone on a hospital bed when they had always stayed together through every problem?

"I’m not asking you to spend the night with them. Just tuck them into bed and come back here," Sophie exhaled a tired breath.

Maybe Joseph was right. Kids did need her.

"What are you saying? You haven’t seen Nina since the event?" Valerie asked Geena while pacing around in the room.

"No, I haven’t."

"Shame on you. You are her assistant and here you are telling me that you don’t know her whereabouts."

After tucking the kids into bed, including Georgie, Sophie lay in the extra one that was used by Emily.

She looked at the wall that had a giant picture of the three siblings laughing at something. Just a few days back Rafael clicked it and got it framed for the wall.

There was another picture in his bedroom, hanging on the front wall, but it was wrapped in a thick cloth. Marissa had told Sophie that Rafael wanted to give her a surprise and had asked her to let him open it for her.

"You were so fond of giving surprises, Rafael. But to tell you the truth, Marissa and I didn’t like the last one. Even Joseph is mad at you."

She closed her eyes on the pillow, and hated it, "Now I understand, dear friend. One can’t sleep when their loved one is gone. All this time I kept forcing you to take some rest. I’m sorry, Mar. Please wake up. You need to wake up before they try to destroy the will-reading. Come on, my fighter friend. Wake up. Because I know Valerie won’t sit quietly. Until now she must have known about Rafael’s demise. She won’t let his property go this easily.

She won’t let you stay in peace. Please, wake up, Mar!"

A tear drop escaped her eye and came down running on her temple absorbing in her hair.

Her hand started fishing for her phone near the pillow when there was this familiar buzzing sound.

It was a message from Joseph.

Marissa has gained consciousness. Congratulations, darling. She is back. Yayyy!!!

Wiping her face, Sophie got up with a smile, "You did it, my friend. You did it again!"
