Mr. President You Are The Daddy Of My Triplets novel Chapter 270

Chapter 270: 270- The Event (V)

Reporters were swarming near the stage. They were especially excited to click the family pictures.

Marissa had to hold back her smile when she saw how her kids were waving at the guests as if they were celebrities.

There were a few journalists who threw questions at Rafael, but he kept it nice and short.

"I’m sorry but I need to get off this stage so that you all can continue enjoying your drinks and food. Moreover, my kids also need to go to bed."

That’s it.

Little ones’ time on the stage was over.

Like a Genie, Emily materialized and waited for the kids to get off the stage. True to her word, she was there on time. Just like she promised.

Seeing the kids getting down, the crowd started to clap and when Marissa followed them down, the clapping intensified.

Without a word, Emily gently took the hands of Alex and Abi while George held Ariel’s, they led the kids inside.

Rafael was right beside her, keeping her close. His hand rested protectively on her lower back.

"We need to meet the guests, darling," he murmured giving her a once over, "by the way, just to remind you... you look beautiful!"

Marissa blushed and, in an attempt to be bold, she lifted herself on her toes and kissed his cheek. Several cameras clicked the pose.

Pressing her to his side, he walked over to where Joseph was and hugged his best friend. Sophie at once dashed towards her and hugged her.

"You did it, baby. You did it!"

Marissa got back after squeezing her friend, "Thank you, Fia!"

Instead of uttering another word, Sophie looked behind her. Following her gaze, Marissa turned and found Delinda standing there.

"Y-you... you were never the other woman..." she whispered.

Marissa made a pout in fake confusion. She knew damn well what Delinda wanted to say, "Excuse me!"

"I’m... I’m sorry... Marissa... I thought... Valerie is his wife... like... why didn’t you tell me that it’s not you but Valerie who is the other woman?"

Marissa wanted to roll her eyes. The audacity of this woman.

Was she serious?

"Marissa..." Delinda trailed off when Marissa started shaking her head.

"Excuse me, ma’am. Do I know you?" she batted her eyes. Delinda felt shame enveloping her. She had gotten the message.

And she was aware that she deserved it.

With a tightlipped smile, she nodded and turned around to walk away.

Still holding Sophie’s hand, Marissa’s gaze flickered towards Nina, who stood at some distance.

She was looking at Marissa and there was a silent plea in her eyes. Instead of reacting, Marissa stayed indifferent. She couldn’t forget the threat that still echoed in her ears when she left Sangua City.

This woman was not trustworthy.

"Honey! You alright?" her eyes snapped up to Rafael’s face who had concern in his eyes, "I’ve been calling you. Should we go back home?"

While searching for him, her eyes found him in a corner talking to some business associate. He was looking back at her.

Swallowing hard, she turned to look at Sophie who was quickly dabbing her mouth with a napkin.

Marissa looked at her questioningly, "What are you off to?"

"Umm. I just sent a message to Joseph that I’m missing him," she pointed towards Joseph who was telling Dean about something, "and he messaged me back that I should go to him now. I’m leaving, babe. Don’t worry. I’ll stay the night at your place." She planted a quick kiss on Marissa’s cheek and glided away.

Sophie’s mention of the night stay reminded Marissa of Rafael’s surprise.

She took out her phone and messaged him, just like Sophie did.

I miss you.

She raised her eyes and found him reading the message on his phone. When his face lit up, Marissa shrugged, giving him a silent message that she wanted to be with him.

Rafael who was talking to that man, said something and shook hands before he headed to her. She was expecting him to call her over just like Joseph did.

But no.

He was coming to her himself.

It warmed her heart. Upon reaching her, he held her face and kissed her, "God! I missed you!"

Holding his hands, which were still holding her face, she nodded holding back her tears, "I... I missed you too."

Marissa’s gaze flickered towards her left where Nina was standing. All this time, Marissa could sense her eyes on her.

But no, Nina. Your time is over. Now it’s my turn. You just wait and watch.
