Mistaking an Alpha for a Pimp novel Chapter 2

Gary POV

The cries of battle mixed with echoes of pain rented the sky, one would mistake it for a war front but it was just my pack's training ground and the cries are of those who are undergoing training. I hit a trainee with the cane I held and he yelped in pain, I scowled at him and he swallowed his cries.

I strode casually to and fro in front of them while they squatted, we'd been at it for hours and they had been in the squatting position ever since.

"To be a warrior means to overcome pain, be fine with pain, and become one with pain until pain no longer affects you, you may be a Werewolf and you heal fast whenever you sustain an injury but know that you'll be protecting the pack, your families and everyone you love and this comes with a sacrifice and every sacrifice comes with pain," I said and paused to see if they were listening.

"You will sustain injuries that will cause you to be scared forever but these scars are evidence that you survived, you must learn how to keep moving while neglecting pain, do you understand?" I screamed.

"Yes, Alpha!" They roared.

"Good," I said satisfactorily.

"You may change positions, be at ease," I added and they all collapsed to the ground. I chuckled seeing that they all were exhausted.

My beta walked towards me and I acknowledged her presence with a nod.

"They're young, reminds me of us when we were younger." Hannah; my beat remarked.

I chuckled.

"Yes, we were full of life and so are they, which is why I purposely chose to train them myself," I said.

"Very well." She replied.

I nodded my head and downed the cup of coffee she brought me.

"On your feet!" I ordered and all the youngsters sprang to their feet.

Hannah smiled and walked away, I faced the youngsters once more.

"We'd practice our swordsmanship, grab a sword, and choose a partner, we're sparring," I instructed and they all followed my instructions.

My sword was brought to me and I showed them a few moves and watched them practice it. I spent the next two hours correcting and helping the Seventy-eight youngsters who planned on joining the pack's defense team perfect their swordsmanship. I was about to proceed to the use of guns when my phone rang.

I growled and ignored the phone but then it rang again; annoying me, I checked the caller ID and gave the trainees a short break, I answered the call grudgingly.

"Hello, brother." A feminine voice drawled.

"What do you want Gloria?" I asked impatiently.

"Is that how to say hi to your sister?" She whined.

I chuckled.

"I'm in the middle of something Gloria, what do you want?" I said calmly.

"I need a Favor." She said.

"Proceed."

"I need you to pick someone up on my behalf from the airport."

I laughed.

"The guest only delivered the package she was meant to and left with her kids," Hannah reported.

I scoffed.

"She brought kids with her? Interesting, you may leave." I said dismissively.

Hannah nodded and left and I scoffed. Gloria was surely overdoing things, she'd set me up with different women and now she's setting me up with one that had kids? I wondered what was wrong with my silly sister. The woman was sure pompous as she also didn't come with Hannah because I wasn't there to pick her up, I began to suspect that she was playing hard to get.

My phone and I answered the call.

"Hey, brother..." Gloria drawled.

"Gloria!" I growled.

"Did you like the surprise?" She asked excitedly.

"What surprise? The pompous date you set up that had a kid? Hannah went to get her but she refused to come with her and delivered the package." I said, bored of the discussion.

"You should have gone in her stead, I swear you'd be shocked and reeling with excitement if you saw them."

"I'd be excited to see other people's children. How crazy can you get?"

"You gave me your word that you'd go get them and an alpha never backs out of his words or promises so you'd better go get them as you promise, trust me, you'd thank me for this."

"I'm only agreeing to this because I gave you my word."
