Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 50

Chapter 50 Catch Animals

Although Jane had Mia with her, her illness hadn’t completely gone away.

There were moments when she’d suddenly snap back to clarity.

And in those moments, she’d lose it, throwing a huge tantrum.

All she could do was scream out for Mia.

She didn’t want a substitute; she yearned for the real deal.

Over at the conversation between Freya and Mia, Mia replied, “Freya, Mom’s in top form. Check out this brooch she gave me. She promised to cut the cake with me later. She’s just catching a breather in the backyard because she’s a bit tired.”

Freya nodded in relief. “That’s a relief.”

After getting the update on Jane, Freya casually dropped a piece of advice. “Mia, it’s time you grew up a bit. Quit bickering with Daniel all the time.”

Mia pouted and shot back, “He’s the one who started it. It’s all his fault.”

Then she switched gears and brought up Nina. “Freya, Benjamin’s always been single. And now, out of the blue, this baby shows up. Can you really buy that?”

“Daniel doesn’t pull that kind of stunt,” Freya said matter-of-factly.

She then gave Mia a stern look. “Benjamin and I were never in a romantic relationship, much less engaged. Now that he has a kid, there’s no future for us. Mia, when you see Benjamin, keep your mouth shut.”

Mia grumbled but nodded. “Fine, Freya. I’m gonna go play with my friends,” she said.

Mia had rounded up a bunch of friends for the party.

With a quick wave, Freya let her off.

Meanwhile, in the manor filled with the gentle notes of light music, Daniel, who’d been glued to Nina like a shadow, was getting the boot.

“Un-coo Dan’el, go ‘way!” Nina was fed up with Daniel butting in when she was playing with the older kids.

She was having a blast running around on the grass. Even when she took a tumble and could’ve easily gotten up on her own, Daniel would dash over, scoop her up, and start cooing.

But Nina was in the zone and didn’t need the babying.

After Daniel interrupted her playtime one too many tinies, Nina got mad.

She puffed out her cheeks and pushed Daniel away.

“Me play! Un-coo Dan’el away!”

Daniel still tried to tag along, but Nina gave him a warning. “Me cry! Cry lots!”

Seeing that she was dead serious, Daniel had no choice but to back off.

Before he left, he told the other kids, “Our Nina’s still a little tyke. Be nice to her, okay?”

Just then, Lucas came up and slapped Daniel on the back. “Dude, you’re so annoying. Shut up already.”

Lucas grabbed Daniel by the collar and started leading him towards the sports area.

He shouted to one of the kids, “Lucien, keep an eye on Nina. Daniel and I are gonna have some fun.”

Lucien Morris, a seven-year-old from the Morris family, was the big shot among the kids.

He’d thought Nina was too young to play with before, but since his cousin Lucas had asked, he decided to be a good sport.

“Hey, chubbs, what’s your name again?” he asked.

Nina frowned. “Not chubb! Me Nina!”

Lucien shrugged. “Okay, Nina. Come on, let’s play.”

The little rascal Lucien wasted no time.

He waved his hand and led Nina and the other kids to a new spot.

He said. “Since there’s a bunch of us, let’s have a contest!”

Lucien, a little boy brimming with mischievous ideas, suddenly had a brilliant thought. His eyes sparkled as he announced to the other kids, “Let’s have a competition! We’ll catch the little animals around here. There are loads of rabbits and cats. Whoever catches the most wins!

“Most catches… win! And there’s gonna be a prize for the winner! Hey, listen up! We only catch them, no hurting! If anyone bullies these little things, I’ll give them a good whack!”

Lucien was absolutely smitten with furry animals.

He had a soft spot for all things fluffy and was quite the little animal-keeper.

At his home, there were several cute kittens that he took care of all by himself.

It was well-known that there were some freely-roaming rabbits and cats on the Wilson family’s estate.
