Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 424

Chapter 424 An Engagement Party

Nina cried to her friend about her pretty uncle dying. On the other end of the line, Noah was a little confused and took a moment to answer sleepily, “Nina. You eat?”

Because of the time difference, it was still daytime for Nina, but back home, it was already night.

Noah was awake, but his mind was still foggy. Their conversation wasn’t exactly on the same page.

Nina sniffled and looked down at her little tummy. “Nina no eat.”

Noah responded slowly, “Oh! Daniel die?”

Nina paused, then sniffled again. “No. Pwetty uncle die.”

The two little ones chatted on their smartwatches, sometimes not even connecting their sentences properly, but they kept talking anyway.

After Noah woke up a bit more, he offered some advice.

“Nina, you need buy little house,” he said seriously. “For pretty uncle.”

The “little house” Noah mentioned was his way of understanding what an urn was. He also suggested Nina buy white flowers for Lester.

Noah offered bizarre advice, and Nina was all ears.

Daniel and Erik were still talking about Lester and weren’t really listening to Nina’s call.

After a while, Nina finished her call with Noah. She even tried calling the number for Lester that she’d saved on her watch the day before.

Nobody answered.

That unanswered call finally convinced Nina that her uncle really was dead and wasn’t coming back-just like Noah’s grandpa.

Noah had told her he called his grandpa lots and lots of times after he died, but his grandpa never answered.

Now Lester wasn’t answering Nina’s calls either.

Heartbroken, Nina wiped her tears and went looking for a “little house” and white flowers.

Nelson followed her, sticking close.

“Nina, don’t cry,” Nelson said softly, seeing the huge, glistening tears in her eyes. He thought she looked so sad.

Nina lifted the back of her hand to rub her eyes.

“Nelson, Nina cry,” she said, trying to explain she couldn’t help it.

Nelson took a tissue and gently wiped her little face. He held her hand and led her to pick flowers.

There was a greenhouse on the estate, and the gardens were full of blooms. Flowers weren’t hard to find, but a “little house” was.

Nelson figured they could probably buy a “little house” at a store. They could pick flowers first, then go buy the “little house”.

“Nelson, pwetty flower,” Nina said, her sadness lifting a little as she was distracted by the beautiful flowers. Her mood was starting to improve.

The staff watched her picking flowers but didn’t stop her. Everyone on the estate knew Nina’s status by now.

Catherine had no children of her own; Sienna’s descendants were her only heirs.

She had been quite distant toward them before, but her attitude had clearly changed since Nina came along.

Just as Nina was busy picking flowers, Catherine walked over.

“Want to go out?” Catherine asked her.

Nina’s head snapped up. At the mention of going out, she didn’t hesitate for a second. She toddled over and wrapped her chubby arms around Catherine’s legs.

“Grandma, carry Nina,” she requested, wanting to be held for their outing.

Catherine was in good health and had no trouble picking Nina up. Nelson stuck close to them like a little shadow.

Catherine was heading to Arthur Bernard’s place. The Bernards were an old, established family in Marisavia, and Arthur had even served as President.

Catherine was on good terms with them.

Arthur’s youngest son, Anthony Bernard, was having his engagement party today, and it was

bound to be a lively affair.

Catherine knew Nina loved excitement, so she decided to take the little girl along to Anthony’s engagement party.

Perched in Catherine’s arms, Nina’s chubby face was lit up with happiness. “Grandma, where?”

“To my friend’s house for an engagement party,” Catherine explained.
