Amelia asked, “How is that possible? Even if it were you, haven’t you ever faced setbacks growing up?”

Benjamin actually thought about it seriously for a moment.

From childhood to now, he had never been denied anything.

Whatever he wanted, he basically got. Even when he was little and wanted the chubby little girl from the Wilson family, and they wouldn’t give her to him, he still ended up with her when he grew up.

So Benjamin’s life had truly been one where he got whatever he wanted.

Amelia said helplessly, “I don’t want to talk to you anymore.”

Amelia thought about Benjamin’s successful life, then about herself, and decided to calm down a bit.

The two adults were holding Nina’s things. In the living room, the two children were talking.

Earlier, Nina had fussed to watch cartoons. Now that they were really on, she didn’t want to watch anymore -she wanted trucks.

But Amelia wasn’t there. Nina didn’t know how to change the channel herself.

Nelson took the remote, wanting to search for trucks for her.

While searching for the cartoons, Nelson suddenly said hank you to Nina.

“Nina, thank you.”

He knew Nina had cried and insisted on staying so he could be here to look for his mommy.

Nina was sitting on the sofa. When she heard Nelson thank her, she tilted her little head.

Her cheeks were still flushed from crying, but her small mouth had already curved into a smile.

“Nelson, you welcome!”

After grinning, Nina’s plump little body leaned over and snuggled against Nelson.

Soon, Amelia came over with a sweat towel and tucked into the neck of Nina’s clothes.

After tucking it in, she took out Nina’s little dinosaur water cup and let her sip a few times.

After drinking, Amelia asked about the lady Nina wanted to find.

Nina hugged her little water cup and poked the button on top with her chubby finger.

When she poked the button, the lid popped open.

Nina poked it for fun and didn’t tell Amelia about Grace

Nelson had told her not to.

Amelia couldn’t get an answer. Nelson stayed silent, tool

With no other choice, she had to put the topic aside for how.

As time passed bit by bit, Nina fell asleep leaning on the sofa.

Nina was tilted against a pillow. Even in sleep, her hand still clutched the little sock she had taken off.

Nelson lay on the other side and had fallen asleep.

Amelia saw the two children asleep. She took the little sock from Nina’s hand, tossed it aside, and carried her into the bedroom to sleep.

Benjamin carried Nelson in, too.

The two little ones lay in bed sleeping. Benjamin didn’t join them.

He had left that morning without finishing his work. Now he had to go handle it.

Benjamin said, “Amelia, stay with them and sleep a bit. Ill come find you after I finish.”

Amelia replied, “Okay.”

She didn’t see Benjamin off. She had been taking care of the children all morning and was quite tired too.

Many people thought taking care of kids was simple and easy-just let them play alone while the parent watched nearby.

But anyone who actually took care of children knew how exhausting it was.

Children rarely played quietly by themselves. Most were restless.

And Nina was especially full of energy.

Parents had to watch her every second. Otherwise, she would cause trouble.

Amelia was tired-she locked the bedroom’s door and went to sleep too.

Nina could only turn the handle to open the door. Once it was locked, she wouldn’t know how to unlock it.

Even if she woke up before Amelia, she wouldn’t be able to get out of the bedroom.

Amelia had thought everything through carefully, but she had only considered that Nina couldn’t open a locked door.

She hadn’t considered Nelson.

More than an hour later, Nelson-who usually didn’t na-quietly woke up.

He got out of bed without waking Amelia.

He wanted to go out and wander around. But before he reached the door, a soft little voice stopped him.

“Nelson, where you go?”

Nina didn’t know when she had sat up. Her sleeping face was flushed, still dazed.

She rubbed her eyes and asked again where Nelson was going.
