This time around, her tiny, chubby hand managed to land on the big snake’s head at last.
There was an adorable harmony between the snake and the chubby tot.

On the other side, Nancy, having been spooked by the snake and fleeing in a hurry, ran into Benjamin. He’d been on a search ever since last night when he entered this place.
In his hand was a high-tech gadget he was using to look for someone.
Spotting him, Nancy froze on the spot.
Having been in the showbiz and followed loads of celebs, she’d seen good-looking guys, but Benjamin?
He was on a whole different level. Standing at a whopping 6 feet 3 inches, he had a face that was more gorgeous than those AI-crafted idol faces.
Clad in a black windbreaker, his deep, cold eyes glanced over at Nancy.
Nancy was so stunned that her mouth hung open. It took her ages to snap out of it. Then, she started bawling and lunged at Benjamin,
“Help! There’s a huge snake! It eats people! Save me!” she wailed, making a beeline for his arms.
Benjamin shot her a cold look. Just as she was about to fling herself into his embrace, he nimbly stepped aside.
Nancy landed flat on the ground.
Sitting there with tears in her eyes, she stared at Benjamin, whose handsome face remained as stoic as ever.
“Where’s the snake? Who’d it gobble up?” he asked coolly.
Nancy hesitated for a sec, then pointed in a direction.
But right away, she curled her fingers back and tried to hold Benjamin back. “Don’t go. That snake’s really scary. It… it ate a kid.”
She just blurted that out to keep Benjamin by her side.
Benjamin’s good looks had completely swept her off her feet, and she’d even forgotten about Alistair.
As she kept trying to stop him, Benjamin’s eyes darkened at her words.
In an instant, he was right in front of Nancy.
Nancy’s heart skipped a beat as he got closer.
She said, “I think I twisted my ankle. Can you-

Chapter 36 No Hit Gray
Being well-trained, he was quick and to the point, not giving Nancy a chance to babble on.
Nancy dropped to the ground with a thud.
Benjamin averted his gaze indifferently and took long strides to find the little one.
The moment Nancy showed up, he’d recognized her as the teacher who’d kidnapped Nina.
As Benjamin marched forward, the chubby baby he was after was still snuggling up to the snake.
“Snakey, I wuy you lots! Hug!”
Nina, who had a fever, had a warm little face. The snake’s cool body felt so nice against it.
So the little one clung to the snake, insisting on cuddles.
After a bit, the snake sensed Nina wasn’t feeling well.

“Ssss.” It made a soft noise, then gently wriggled free from the clingy baby and slithered off to find some herbs for her.
The snake wriggled free, and Nina stood there, pouting cutely in annoyance.
Instead of consoling her, the snake quickly slithered off, wriggling this way and that.
Before long, it bumped into Benjamin.
There were a few adorable cartoon stickers on its head, put there by Nina.
The snake and Nina had become friends!
Spotting the stickers, Benjamin recognized them from the clothes Nina wore when she went missing.
What Nancy said suddenly popped into his head. “It… ate a kid!”
A chill unlike any other filled his eyes as he remembered.
Without hesitation, he drew the dagger from his waist and advanced towards the snake, determined to end its life.
This old-timer of the mountains wasn’t one to be trifled with.
Sensing the lethal intent, it coiled up, ready to strike.
The showdown was on.
Benjamin lunged with the dagger.
The first thrust missed as the snake nimbly dodged.
The second landed, but the snake’s thick hide only suffered a minor scratch.
Just as he readied for the third strike, a tiny, angry voice piped up, “No, no!” It was Nina.
