Felix couldn’t think of a good way to make things right.

Brian sent him a location pin, then texted, “This is a traditional medicine wellness center. It’s good for getting over chills, especially for kids. Their doctors are pediatric experts.”
Brian’s suggestion was solid.
When Fiona returned, Felix shared his plan with her.
Fiona thought he was being very thoughtful.
“Then let’s go check it out,” she said, gently touching Nina’s hair.
Brian took a bit longer drying her hair, but it was still dry anyway.
Nina had a change of clothes in her bag.
After changing and having her hair put up in a little bun with a hair clip, Nina was taken to the traditional medicine clinic.
The doctor there, Thomas Scott, didn’t wear a white coat.
He had a kind face, and he listened patiently as Nina, her mouth trembling, told him she’d fallen in the
water.
Thomas comforted her with a smile and checked both her and Chloe.
After the exam, Thomas got some acupuncture needles ready.
The treatment was actually just for Chloe, not Nina.
But watching the needles go into Chloe’s arm scared Nina even more than falling into the pool had.
“No! No poke Auntie Chloe!” Nina wailed, trying to stop Thomas.
But the needles were already in and couldn’t be removed right away.
Felix and Fiona did their best to coax Nina, while Chloe kept insisting she didn’t feel any pain.
Thomas was quite skilled.
After the session, Chloe immediately felt the lingering cold in her body fade away.
She felt very comfortable.
Thomas suggested she come for more sessions.
Without hesitation, Chloe booked a few more appointments for the next few days.
After leaving the Traditional Medicine Clinic, Chloe and Nina returned to the Graham Residence.
Nina had had a really tough day.
Her smartwatch was broken-if it hadn’t been, she would have called home to tattle a lot earlier.

Since she couldn’t use her watch to tattle, the tired Nina refused to sleep in the car.

After getting out of the car, she rubbed her eyes, summoned up her energy, stepped through the door, and went to find Benjamin, Amelia, William, and Daniel.
“Nina home!” she announced first.
Then came the grievance. “Nina fall water! Daddy! Mommy! Grandpa! Un-coo Dan’el! Nina fall water!”
Her loud voice rang through the house while she tattled
Meanwhile, after finishing his chat with Felix, Brian sat in a room he’d set up a long time ago and closed his eyes, fantasizing about Chloe living there.
The room was covered with photos of Chloe.
Brian had been obsessed with Chloe for ages.
This time, using Felix as a pawn to take the blame…
I can finally have her all to myself here, perfectly hidden.
The sinister plot brewing outside was unknown to Chloe and Nina back at the Graham Residence.
Finally able to tell her story, Nina sat on William’s lap with Daniel holding her hand, surrounded by Benjamin and Amelia, and chattered on and on about what happened.
Sitting in William’s lap, her account jumped around, but the whole family listened patiently.
Amelia, worried she might get sick, gently felt her forehead.
It wasn’t hot.
Thomas hadn’t used needles on Nina; instead, he’d put herbal patches on her belly button and back.
“Nina, next time you see water, stay far away from it, okay?” Amelia instructed her patiently. “You’re too little to play by water. If you fall in, you’ll feel as terrible as you did today. Understand?”
Nina nodded seriously. She understood now.
After a while of family attention, Benjamin suddenly asked Chloe, “Did you and Nina see anyone else today?”
Chloe was surprised by the question but answered, “We only saw Fiona and Felix today-just the two of them. They’re seeing each other, and Fiona says they might get engaged soon.”
She gave a full account of their day.
